In history she was the most beautiful turkish lady ever. But she was extremely unfortunate sultan ever. We know that hurrem was beautiful and sultan was crazy for her beauty, but that was wrong sultan liked that witch only for her courage and boldness. In this series the writers and directers did very bad to make the history as per their wishes.

Was Mahidevran named Queen?(Empress). In history, it was Hurrem who was name the first legally wedded wife, the first Haseki (Chief Consort), the first Empress (Queen). And the most beautiful woman in the Ottoman Empire.

@@jehantess312 Hurrem the Russian Witch was the first legally wedded slave... before Hurrem many were married to sultans as Suleiman's mother Hafsa was married Sultan Selim. And of course, the best available records show, Mahidevran was not a slave and was married to Suleiman at the age of 12 as she was the daughter of a prominent musician.

Mahidevran never received the title of sultan , unlike hurrem who got all the titles and went above Suleiman sisters and aunts lol. Also nowhere in history Suleiman married mahidevran. Mahidevran was a hatun. A slave.

When I first saw sultan suleiman series,to me mahidevran was the innocent one and hurrem was the villain...but later,when I watched it again in KZbin,I found mahidevran very fool,and hurrem very clever...but the thing I still believe that mahidevran was so so unfortunate woman with no other place to go,and sultan suleiman really never judge her with favour... history said the same... mahidevran was so beautiful,where hurrem was kinda sexy

About 80% of all they show about Mahidevran in the show Magnificent Century has no base at all. The main problem is there is no available proof or records to dispute these claims. That leaves someone to only logical reasoning. 1) The claim of Mahidevran beating up Hurrem is baseless as it was disputed even during that time itself and later by many Turkish Historians. The problem is... what happens in the Harem stays in the Harem. Not even the sultan is allowed to disclose what happened there. The information is from Venetian Report from Turkey.. which is equal to National Enquirer for Christiandom to laugh at the Ottomans Mahidevran never lived in the Old Palace or left the Topkapi palace until Mustafa was assigned to Manisa. If she were such a vicious person she would have been sent out almost immediately. This also shows her stature as a more important person than a slave/concubine. 2) The claim of Mahidevran ordering the killing of Mehmet has no proof at all. The disease he caught was going through that area for a while and he caught it and geographically Mahidevran coming all the way from Amasya which is at the northeast border of the empire to the almost south west of the empire just to order the death of a prince and returning back totally unnoticed is a ridiculous claim. Even the fastest messengers take about 8 days of ride to reach there. And no one even at that time ever said it was the handy work of Mahidevran and she was never accused of ordering the death of anyone ever. 3) The life of Mahidevran in the different provinces where Mustafa was assigned was pious and because of her charity work everyone loved her and it helped Mustafa a lot in attaining the love of the people. This was very well known. 4) Hurrem, Rustem, and Mihirima all sidelined Mahidevran with made up stories about her trying to create an uprising against the Suleiman.. which all fell apart right around the death of Hurrem and after the death of Hurrem upon which all her witchcraft effect was gone, Suleiman himself ordered his Son Selim to pay off all debts of Mahidevran and buy her a house and give her a regular income. After the death of Suleiman it Selim built the tomb of Mustafa. 5) Nothing much was known about the last years of Mahidevran who survived beyond the life of Suleiman and all his children. From her previous years, one can assume she lived a more Sufi/mystic life. Honestly... this is not the only character that was destroyed by the writers of the series. There were many others. As my comment had gone awfully long .. I will humbly end this.

Mahidevran wasn't a sultana, just a hatun , despite what the series showed. Also Mustafa wasn't innocent nor guilty, we can't know for sure. Hurrem never got Ibrahim killed. Sure she helped on both murders, but both people did tons of mistakes. She wasn't a witch, more like an annoying person who snitches everything and sticks the nose everywhere. hurrem actually argued a lot of times with mahidevran but they never beated each other or so. Also, they say that mahidevran was very cautious of her son and super protective because she feared hurrems influence over Suleiman , as we saw in series, and blamed her for everything. (Hurrem never attempted to kill Mustafa). Mustafa who never lived his father as his brothers did in topkapi, believed a lot to his father Suleiman and he thought he knows his father but infact he was all wrong.

Mahidevran is responsible for her own misery.. her uncontrollable jealousy has caused her dearly!! She went to the extend of poisoning hurrem and later killed Ahmed.. she cast all the 1st stones at hurrem.. infact hurrem became so wicked it's because of mahidevran!!
