The original version of this song was recorded by Mina in 1960. It was one of her first big international hit at the time and also reached the US top 100 despite being sung in italian. It was often featured on the soundtracks of many legendary italo flavoured american gangsters films like "Good Fellas". Mina recorded it in italian, spanish, english, french and German but many anglo/american singers like Toni Arden also recorded it in the sixties under the title: "This world we love in".

I suggest you to react to other Blanco’s songs, and I give you a bit of context. He is really young, he’s now 19 and his first hit dropped in 2020, "Notti in bianco". Then he released other great songs like "Paraocchi" and "Ladro di fiori" but caught the attention of all Italians in January 2021 with "La canzone nostra" (that song is a masterpiece). He had the most popular song of summer 2021 here in Italy with ”Mi fai impazzire" ft Sfera Ebbasta. He finally dropped the album in September, "Blu celeste" that was a huuuge success. (I suggest you to react to the album, he’s a great one, also considering his young age)

This is such an iconic old song in Italy. Anyone who attempts to sing their own version will inevitably be subjected to criticism. I was very worried when I heard M&B were going to do it, but all in all I don't think they did a bad job.

Hi, great reaction. The original song was written by the Italian songwriter and singer Gino Paoli to be performed by Mina in 1960. The following year, Gino Paoli recorded his own version. Both interpretations are really good, but Gino Paoli's is more heartfelt (as it should be since the song was inspired by his own life happenings), also the instrumental part conveys softer and more tender feelings. Hope you will enjoy listening to both versions.
