But we will never know how he or Brady would do against defenses back when they could literally hit you from any angle, high or low, in the knees, full speed blindsides, head shots, pile ons. Need I continue? Montana, Farve, Elway, Bradshaw, Stabauch, and more hall of fame/ Super Bowl champion QBs paid dearly with their bodies and brains and still succeeded. Therefore the term GOAT is misleading. Bradshaw and Montana are 4-0 in the Super Bowl and they were knocked out of games multiple times, not to mention out for the season during their careers. As a diehard Pats fan; individually statistics Mahomes will shatter Brady. Superbowls/divisional championships wins are team victories and a ton of credit goes to Adam Vinatieri and Bills defense. This is the first year Mahomes has a top tier defense. Everyone's quick to say Brady beat him twice and they both play on offense, makes no sense. If Mahomes had a Belichick defense for his career he'd have 4-5 rings now. All this, "Brady beat Mahomes" and Eli beat Brady twice also, and one was an undefeated regular season, that QB vs QB comparison for wins/losses is ridiculous. They play against opposing defenses. Our defense gave us the St. Louis Rams, Seattle, and the LA Rams victories. That's just what it is. Big Brady fan here. I was rooting for Mahomes because I'm a fan of his too and I love dynasties in sports. Anyway, with 3 Super Bowl wins I would now place Mahomes 3rd all time in the QB goat rankings behind Brady and Montana. Mahomes needs at least one more Super Bowl to be in the conversation for 2nd best all time, and two more Super Bowls to be the undisputed 2nd all time. I believe he can get there. But I don't see him getting to 6 and certainly not to 7. The question is, can he be considered the goat even if he finishes with two fewer rings than Brady? I think it depends on the rest of his stats and his body of work (especially in the playoffs) over the next 10 years or so. We do have to consider that Brady came out on the winning side of his two head to head playoff meetings with Mahomes, once at Kansas City, and once in a Super Bowl. So he has that edge over him in the event of their careers being neck and neck. Nevertheless, Mahomes still has a ways to go to get there, for now let's enjoy his greatness because he is clearly the best of this generation.

They are spot on about Mahomes having the combination of Aaron Rodgers’ athleticism/talent and Tom Brady’s flawless decision making, but what makes Brady the goat, beyond the rings, is his competitiveness. When he came back down 28-3 against Atlanta in the Super Bowl, that solidified Brady as the Goat. That doesn’t take away from Mahomes’ competitiveness because he’s showing similar drive, but I don’t think we can call Mahomes the Goat at least until he either ties or surpasses Brady in rings, or if he has an insane/unheard of come back game in a Super Bowl like Brady did. I’m not even a Patriots fan, but that was the best Super Bowl ever and it showed that Brady had a different competitive gear similar to how they say Jordan had another gear that no one else could turn to.
