How far is it from the bottom of your pool to the top of your deck? I'm wanting to know of these would work. I have a 52" pool, plus an additional 7 inches because we covered the top rail. So about 59"

Your video saved the day! I tried initially to use the mallet according to instructions with my sister's help. It was a frustrating comedy. We then found your video. I ordered the clamps and was able to assemble the steps by myself today. Attaching the mat with zip ties is added good advice. Thank you!!!

Great video. You answered a few questions about the cross braces. The rubber met attached to the bottom of the steps will help a lot. Yours has railings on both sides. Ours only had 1 railing. I hope I can order another rail and pipe set-up. If I can I will need to grill holes in the steps for the polls to go through. Again... Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

I have been "rigging" this same pool stair system for 6 summers now, and am so highly amused by your creativity 😂. I made the pvc weights, and used heavy duty zip ties to secure them vertically to the inner sides of the stairs. Your liner protector zip tied to the bottom is genius! I used blue tape designed for boats and wrapped it around the bottom to make it "padded" (this did not hold up very well, looks sloppy) so I will be trying your idea! For securing the handrails to the deck, I got rid of the screw-in tabs altogether and secured it with a pvc system that fit the diameter of the handrail and secured it from under the deck (hard to explain without a photo) .. but mostly I really enjoyed watching you go under water with goggles to secure the weights ... it made me feel so understood 😂... I sent to my neighbor, who has been my sidekick throughout the years trying to figure out how to make this darn thing work well. Haha . Above ground pools need a better step ladder market!!!

I just learned a good lesson today. Be very careful with the ziplock bags! When I was dropping them into the pool, my finger went through the bottom. To keep the sand coming out, I turned it upside down. As soon as it got out of the water the ziplock opened. Now I have about 25 lbs of sand in the bottom of my pool.

Thank you for the video. Liked the hand clamp tip. Would have saved my dad and I from pounding the sides together. For the sandbags, what bags did you buy? Did the sand come out at any time during the season? How did you get your bags of sand to stay in place? Any links and advice for materials you would suggest?
@DIYJIM

The sand bags came with the steps. They did stay in place. I don’t think the sand came out. I might try to do something different this year. Make something to weigh down. I don’t think those sandbags are going to last.

Hello. I wanted to ask you a question about these steps if you have the time to answer. We have an above ground pool and from winter till spring we put up a dome cover for our pool to keep the pollen out. The hand rails of our latter interfere with the closure of the dome. Do you know if the hand rails of this latter can be easily removed? That way while we have the dome up we could leave the latter in the pool and just take off the hand rails. If you can, please let me know. Thanks.
