The whole waiting 24 for a missing person bullshit really pisses me off. My wife and I had to deal with that from a lazy cop who didn't want to do his job. Didn't even want to take any information or description, I had to call his desk sergeant to get him to take us seriously.

Considering that the first 24 hours is the key to finding a missing person alive, having a cop saying "We have to wait 24 hours" means "Screw you, I don't want to find them".

It’s either 1. A reupload or 2. His boss is not letting him make comments in the story or 3. Their reuploading while recording new Reddit stories I totally think that it was a stupid decision by mr facts boss to make reaction content and then some horror content it isn’t even Halloween I just think mr facts boss is cruel since they run the channel not the narrator

I remember getting called in for questioning about a co-worker/friend when I was in the military. I was there for a few hours, and at one point the cop claimed that they'd spoken to my husband (who was also friends with my co-worker) and that he said that I'd told him that friend told me about stuff that they were questioning me about. I looked at the LE and said, "Look, I know you're gonna order me not to talk about this when I leave because it's an ongoing investigation, but I'm gonna find out why my husband said that, because first of all, our buddy NEVER told me about this shit, and if he HAD, I would have kept my damn mouth shut about it because I don't gossip." The cops realized I knew they were bullshitting me as an interrogation tactic, and they had me sign a statement and leave about 10 minutes later. So yeah. Cops can 100% lie as much as they like.

Good Samaritan laws are meant to protect people from lawsuits for the act of cpr itself, because if you're doing chest compressions correctly, you're almost guaranteed to break their ribs. Source: several first aid classes over the years

Yup, Good Samaritan laws exist in the event that you harm someone when attempting to save their life. The key though is the person you are trying to save has to either gives consent, or there is implied consent, say they are unconscious and can't explicitly give consent.

My wife is an RN, and she says the same thing. She has, however, stopped laughing at the scenes in medical shows that are obviously totally fake showing CPR being performed, such as minimal compression and length of time you are actually able to do them. Hint: not very long. It is very physically difficult to do compression correctly for more than a few minutes.

Regarding the "10 over": Here in Germany, the calibration of most static traffic control devices ('Blitzer') is such that it will only engage if you exceed the speed limit by approximately 10 km/h. The law sytates that there has to be an error margin of 10% or 3 km/h (whichever is higher) applied in traffic control measurements, accounting for calibration of your odometer (which is calibrated for the tire circumference allowed for your vehicle; That's where the 'tire sizes by vehicle registration papers' comes from). There's less margin if it's a temporary, manned traffic control post. Those only do the 10%/3 km/h and flag you down if you're going over. And if you're not nice when they flag you down, they'll get you for other stuff, too. Because there's always other stuff with your vehicle.

I can confirm that not only is it LEGAL to discuss wages with coworkers, it is PROTECTED by both the department of labor and the EEOC. If a company fires or retaliates in any way for you discussing wages, you could be awarded quite a bit of money from the company.

Will reading were a thing back in the day because literary rates were not the best. A will is usually public documents and or you can request them Also if I was a cop I damn will let the arrested to get a phone call. It's recorded so someone might admit to a crime. So it's best for you to not call unless it to an attorney. Attorney will contact family if needed

Back in high school, our class got to watch an actual trial at the local courthouse (which was conveniently across the street from our school). One of the lawyers kept trying to pull the "hearsay" nonsense when a witness, when asked to tell the court what happened, said that one of the officers on the scene told them to do something.

There's also no law requiring law enforcement to provide their reasoning for initiating a traffic stop. Most law enforcement officers/deputies/troopers will provide a reason for pulling a driver over merely as a COURTESY, but there is no law that mandates they do so. The only exception to this is the US state of California as they just passed legislation that went into effect January 1st of 2024 that requires law enforcement to provide reasoning for all traffic stops immediately upon making contact with a driver. This is intended to discourage certain underhanded practices such as "pretextual stops", among other things. Another thing that always bugs me is the fact that people seem to think that law enforcement asking a driver to exit the vehicle during a traffic stop is A) optional and B) a precursor to arrest (which it is not by any means). Law enforcement can order you out of your vehicle at any point during a traffic stop for ANY reason and they don't have to tell you why or justify their decision. The only requirement is that you comply, period. I can guarantee that not complying will almost assuredly escalate the encounter and lead to both additional criminal charges and arrest after they forcefully extricate you from the vehicle anyway. This mandate is supported by two US Supreme Court precedents, the main one being "Pennsylvania vs. Mimms" with the deciding judge citing "officer safety" as the primary reason behind the decision. Look I don't like it either, but it is what it is and I recommend that you just comply if ordered out of your vehicle during a traffic stop. I promise you that fighting and arguing about it will only end in you being arrested and charged with "obstruction" and potentially some other criminal offenses as well.

Can't talk about wages? All US Government employee wages are publicly accessible. It is an annual news article talking about how the top 10 (or whatever) paid state employees are university coaches. Your normal state workers are dramatically lower. If you know someone that works for the government you can see how much they made each year with a small amount of Google.

Not so much a law, but a lot of people highly overestimate the need to know a cop's badge number. Unless there's two cops with the same name in the same department, all you need to know is their name.

Ten mph over the speed limit on the highway is one thing. Ten mph over the speed limit in a neighborhood with kids or in a school zone is another. Here's an idea: How about we just budget plenty of travel time so we don't have to speed?

It's based on a bunch of "color of law" nonsense and the misinterpretation of certain founding legal documents as well the idea that there's a difference between you, "the actual individual person" and you "the corporation", or the 'you' that exists on paper for legal and tax purposes. It's really that simple. It has no basis in actual practical court proceedings and no history of ever actually working in court. They always get charged and often end up getting slapped with "contempt of court" charges as well. It's really stupid. They also believe that any courtroom with a gold-fringed American flag up front is invalid because that makes it a "maritime court" which is just not true lol.
