So, I made the decision to put away the video games and really focus on other life goals. Jack, you are one of the reasons why I made this decision. Your content is informative, helpful, and gives me hope. One goal I recently achieved was weighing under 185. I weighed in at 184.4. Finally! I'm hoping to reach 180 a week from today. I hope your surgery goes well and you expect a speedy recovery!

Sorry to hear about the injury. I still think it would be a great video to do for us on how to maintain after a cutting phase and not regain the weight. Thx

It’s a bummer but gotta get through it. Yeah I can eventually

Thanks for sharing your experience while working wounded. Great discussion on various types of maintenance - interesting the very different focus to maintain muscle mass than maintain weight. Deload and recomp kind of come under maintenance too maybe.

You’re welcome and yes there are lots of different scenarios and uses for it but all have their time and place

Just in time. I’ve began a maintenance phase because I lost half my hair after multiple bulks and cuts. I added 500 calories and I’m so full all day and bloated. My last maintenance was 2,200 . Now I’m at 2000k I just need time for my body to adjust because my body looks fuller like I’m bulking. Definitely don’t look lean like I did when I was cutting

So sorry to hear that but sounds like your on the right track now

I know you’re not likely to lose much muscle, but it might be worth looking into TENS machines for maintain muscle. I think it’s been used for limiting disuse atrophy, like when you’re laying in the hospital for weeks and not moving, but perhaps it’d help for you. Even using that plus some isometric contractions during the stimulus, might help

This has been very hard for me. Recently lost 55 lbs over 10 months and got to 10-13% BF. Wanted to maintain. I tried increasing my calories by 500 and was still constantly hungry, having to cut myself off from eating things like chicken & broccoli or egg whites. Tried this for a few weeks and it just felt like I was still on the hard diet. Still going to bed with a growling stomach and dreaming about burgers. I then tried eating until I was full, on all of my low calorie diet foods. Tracked this for a week and it was freaking ~4500 cals a day. And I’m honestly still hungry on this. Up 15lbs from my lowest in only 1 month. Still lifting hard and doing cardio 5 days a week. It’s super depressing. Took months of being miserable to lose 15lbs and now I’m slightly less miserable and gaining 15lbs a month. Abs are gone and face feels puffy. Is the rest of my life just going to be a constant battle of hunger, having low energy, being cranky, and dreaming about burgers? Freaking depressing

Dang sorry to hear that. Not ideal but maybe just try to hold here at 15lbs up for a little and then let your body recovery. 55 lbs is a lot
