Very helpful. The manual - if you can call it that - that came with this gizmo is diabolical! Anyway, nice one! You’ve saved me loads of time trial and erroring it! 👍

I have this but only the first cameras mic works the other 3 cameras are not recording audio... is there a setting i have to change to make all cameras record sound?

Hello. My unit doesn't have sound recording at all, so I think you must have a different model to mine. I would try swapping the camera without sound with one that does.... That will tell you if the camera is at fault or not. If you contact Sansco direct they have s very good customer back up service. Hope you get it sorted ok.

Hi David, I’ve managed to set up the motion detection, but I can’t seem to get the timings right. I want to set it up so it continuously record 24/7 but also had motion detection on through the night so i don’t have to watch through hours of nighttime footage but I don’t understand the 4 different time bars. Any help would be appreciated😁 (I have the same camera but the 4 channel instead of 8)

Hello Mya. Thank you for your message. It sounds like you want yours the same way I have mine. I have mine set to record 24/7 and a marker put on the playback bar whenever motion detect has sensed something. ( I have camera 5 only recording motion detect). In the Menu, Record section. I only use 'Period 1' ( the other periods are for when you want different times on different days I believe), set to 00.00 - 24.00. Period 2, 3 and 4 are left at 00.00 - 00.00. The mode schedule is ticked. All of my cameras except no 5 is set as..... Reg, Det and Alarm all ticked. Reg is all time record, so my camera 5 ( maybe marked chan) has that unticked so it only records when motion is detected. Hope this helps. Good luck. David.

Hi David, many thanks for your videos on the Sansco DVR, its helping me set everything up. Im trying to set my cameras on motion detect 24/7 but I'm not sure how to configure the period setting in motion detect for these times. Would it be possible to send me some instructions? I understand your video on motion detect but not sure how to set the time period. Many thanks. Steve Keech

Hi Stephen.Thank you for your message. I have mine on 24/7 motion detection too, and it's set up as follows....Menu. Rec. Rec Conf. Chan 1 which is cam 1, (do each channel separately), tick Detect and Alarm, Period (top line only) 00:00-00:24. Then do Ch2, and for each chan the same. If you want continuous recording then I do have another video in the playlist to show how to set that up.I hope this solves it for you. Good luck and thank you again.David.

With this set up do you know roughly how long 1 TB will run for before rewriting?

Hi Stephen. It will depend on how sensitive you have the cameras set and for how long they run after detection. Also if it's raining they will almost continuously record. Having said that, I have just checked mine and I have recordings dating back to mid August....so I would expect a month at least !

Hope someone can help. Im struggling to work out if i have a faulty system or its user error. I've followed all instructions and watched numerous videos but for some reason i have my camera icon on at all times when i have the above screen meaning its just recording 24/7 so when i go into playback i just have red boxes for all time. Only time it goes off is when I click the stop button on record config. Whilst i dont mind it recording 24/7 due to some recent issues outside i really could do with having the alerts on the playback screen so they are showing different colours when they motion has been detected. Anyone else had the same issue and can make any suggestions as ive tried everything.

Hello. The red markers are alerts from the motion sensor I think. If it's only one camera, go into the motion detect section and making sure you select the right Channel/camera, maybe lower the sensitivity or change the region settings. Do you have something moving, tree, spiders web etc causing it to keep registering an alert ? It's worth looking at those settings to see. Good luck. 🤞🤞

I've just checked my settings in the record config...... Menu, rec config, cam 1 (do the following for each camera as all of mine have the same settings here), Length=60m, Pre rec=6 sec, Mode=schefule, Week=all, Period 1= 00:00- 24:00. Reg, det and alert all ticked. Periods 2, 3 and 4 are all set 00:00-00:00, and the reg, det and alert are all unticked. Try this and see how it goes.....

@@DavidGarside Thanks David. Its 4 cameras and all show the red Alarm (if i mess around and choose manual or or regular then they will show but doesn't then trigger the alarm even if there is motion)

@@daniandstuwoolley2597 . Yes, period 1....00:00 - 24:00 All three ticked. It just denotes one period of working, and in a24 hour period. Not that I've tried, but you can set it with the other periods to have different cameras operating at different times to cover different areas...

I think you must have a different model/version to mine. I've had mine for a few years and Sansco have probably updated by now, and you may have a newer one.

Hmm, not sure why. It's in the network settings and you have to add your password. I'll look a little deeper and see if there's anything else. Can you see your camera's on your phone app at all?

David Garside yes I can see cameras on my phone just can’t set up the alerts as g mails saying it’s not a safe network 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hi Arron. Ok. Just wstch the video again and make sure you have the settings right, I.e. m9bile reported etc, and make sure you sign in on the phone app via the cloud....I think it doesn't work unless you do that. If they're all ok, then I would suggest e-mailing Sansco customer service as they're very helpful. They will definitely get you up and running. Check with them too if there's any problems with certain e mail accounts as there may be some incompatibilities. Let me know how you get on.
