Here's some cool info. When vegeta knocked our goku and couldn't sense gohan's ki energy, vegeta apologizes to gohan in the Manga because he felt guilty for the circumstances of reawakening buu. This was the second time vegeta apologizes to gohan, the first was the cell saga.

Buu is such a dumb and silly baby but he's also extremely strong. This episode demonstrated some of his power really well by not only destroying Dabura (who had been a real threat to the Z Fighters) but also Gohan with only a single hit.

Buu might act dumb.. but he has alot of common sense.. and its being overlooked and underestimated. Idk how people who have been watching this since when it first came out still not seeing that.. he plays awkward like a child yet at the same time he is.. sometimes it’s better to be thought dumb to play off of other’s ignorance. He literally displayed that. Buu doesn’t take any of them seriously just off their reactions and judgements towards him alone. And knows they are weak. And even gohan caught how he switched up so he won’t get put back in that containment. I mean, I get the decision from like a dramatic and storytelling perspective. And I already know how this arc ends. But from a logical standpoint: Why did Vegeta knock Goku out, if he went on to confront Buu anyway??? Surely he must have felt the energy from Buu and they would have had a much better chance of fighting Buu if they worked together. I just don't understand why Vegeta decided he had to face Buu on his own. Was it a pride thing? Or a regret thing? That he thought he had to redeem himself? I just don't know. Vegeta realized what a mistake he made and dangerous Buu is. He knew it his fault Buu was free so he felt he needed to clean up this mess by himself.He also didn't want to risk Goku dying again during this fight because he already died so he wouldn't exist anymore even in the after life. Vegeta also wanted to the hero for once and save everyone. Everyone felt Buu's power but the innocence and goodness and deep hidden power in Gohan is the only reason Gohan was able to fully feel the depth of Buu's ki.
