@MajinPhil, I have been thinking about the OoT and MM combined randomizer and I had the idea to combine other pairs of randomizers into one. Specifically, I thought of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Mario World, since those are perhaps the two randomizers I know the best. I can imagine travelling in Super Mario World to a place where a moon would usually be but then instead, "Oh, there's the hookshot!" What do you think? You're a very entertaining streamer. Keep up the good work! 😁

In theory it would be quite an interesting mix but probably impossible because SMW and OoT are on completely different systems; It would really only work with two different games for the same system. I know there is actually a ALttP+Super Metroid combined randomizer that is very similar to the concept you're suggesting.

This actually already exists using a platform called Archipelago which lets you randomize between multiple games that are supported and iirc SMW and ALTTP are both supported 😎

Actually, I remember seeing two steamers tacking something like this in a multiplayer fashion one time, where certain stars in Super Mario 64 were actually items for the other player in Ocarina of Time and vice versa

I've done a 100% Ocarina run in about 17 hours. Doing it about 4x faster than that is insane. I also didn't know about any of the glitches or backward slides. I think I prefer not using glitches, but I'm not a speed runner.

I find speed running so interesting, because you can spend 5 years to go from 15 seconds world record to only reduce it to 14.98 seconds lol. I understand the entertainment factor, but so many years precision you think it was the L.O.L grand finals where you get millions for first place

@1trumantucker1 if beaten the game several times there nothing wrong using glitches, why would that be to take advantage, is just a way to experience a game in different ways when done with it. Personally I think use glitches is only wrong when used in multiplayer/competition when should not be used, like speed running all have agreed whatever to use glitches or not when that is the case I dont see how it is wroung

I'm confused, why are some glitzes allowed but not others that would enable you to finish the game in 5 min ie SSB brawl?

Two specific glitches are called "major glitches"; stale item and memory manipulation. They also further differentiate between "glitches" (memory manipulating items into existence) from "exploits" (super slides and bomb hovers). At some points it becomes more and more arbitrary, and then is more just what the community decides to allow. Its not always agreeable; for example in majoras mask NMG, theres a clear glitch that exploits the ocarina back into a random chest that i find personally disagreeable... but its randomly allowed with "no major glitches". Its community mandated and voted on at least...
