This effected me I went to the store to buy my first gun today they gave me a delay

@@Gunner411 I feel like it’s unconstitutional to keep changing the age to buy guns.They entrust soldiers from 18-20 with guns in a war.

Yeah and I think that’s what the lawsuits will be around. It just sucks that they’re getting more strict on people trying to buy and do things legally than cracking down on the illegal sales and trafficking more.

I do have a juvenile felony from when I was 14. Will that prevent me from buying a rifle at 18 years old? Is there a loophole like getting a gun permit or anything? I also heard from somewhere that they see juvenile records that minors got at 16. Is this true ? I can’t find a lot on the internet that will answer my questions. Thank you.

You have to answer the question on the form about having ever been convicted. That would disqualify you. I’d maybe consult a lawyer, you definitely don’t want to lie on the form because that’s a felony in and of itself.

@@Gunner411 yea it was a little confusing. Because juveniles aren’t “convinced”. Unless they are charged as adults. And I can’t buy guns if I’m “convinced”

Just found this out today when I went in to buy a rifle, I have a traffic violation on my record do you think that will cause me an additional delay?

It would technically depend on the violation. If it’s gone to a warrant or if its something that could result in over a year of jail time (one of the questions) then it could cause issues.

Does this mean that they can look at our minor records? I thought those got sealed after you truned 18?

That’s my understanding but the wording available to the public is extremely vague.
