Phil, too, too crummy about being stuck at home, when there are so many things to get cleared up. It was neat to watch the bandstand being taken down. So great that it will fit on the trailer. Keep us posted. Cheers

Late comment. Your fabrication is brilliant! There are structural loads to consider in an awning like that that carries lights, the wind and rain on the tarp cover, as well as the metal itself. Good job. I hope you have labelled the metal stage connections so you can more easily put it up next year. Even colour coded. I spent years touring large stage productions and people who are commenting on the amount of time it takes to put up and strike sets... have no clue. Especially when you are building as you go. Once it's properly built to be moved subsequent get-ins and strikes are slick. 👍 I hope you can find at least one other person to help you with your projects as having a chippy to fetch, carry, rinse brushes, move brush, etc., makes it four times faster.😉

Nice to get new pipes and hopefully no cost to you for them. This will give you time to get everything completed and stacked up for next year. Thank goodness you and the neighbours are informing the workers as much as possible about the designs of the waterways. I dread to think what the council in England would do on that job. Can we see lightning soon or is it too upsetting for him with so many people around bye for now from Lynda 😊
@merrileeheard3889Ай бұрын
While it's certainly not ideal, you DO have an "escape" route and have new water pipes is a plus. BTW really well designed roof for the stage, well done.

We have had road works here for month's. Electric supply to god knows where. It starts outside my villa, barriers the length of the road. Earth movers, hammer drills. Trenches everywhere. Hang in there phil, it will stop soon. I was blocked in by a trench one side a barrier the other. I got them to let me out and back in. 😂😂😂😂 Best wishes

@peterwhite9261Ай бұрын
It is great that you are there to guide the workers from destroying ancient archways. It is sad to see the road torn up but it will be better to have the newer system. I hope they will fix your road for you. It may be manageable while it is dry, but when it rains, I imagine you are stuck there. Best wishes, Phil.❤

Tedious not having a drive. My friend couldn't leave her farm by the usual route for 6 months as they took the bridge across the old A30 away & didn't open the new one (across the new new A30) in good time. She had to drive part of the way along her lane & then along a bridleway. Her mum (who's in her 90s) lives just the other side of the bridge... nowhere near ideal. I mention the roads as Phil should know them!

Some other chateaus have had road works burying electricity cables or other ground work and such to the extent of ground damage like Colombe and Montmagner so make sure they don't do the same to you Phil. Glad you have some extra hands to make taking the event down much easier and safer. A shame you don't have your own shed available to store on the property. Interesting seeing another side of your area than we have seen already your other neighbours :) Maybe stay at Billy's or the convent with Lightning until they are done so you can help out there and they can return the favour later on someday ;)
