I didn't say TP wasn't dark, I just think Majora's Mask is darker. It protrays a happy feeling throughout Clock Town and the residents but with undertones of everyone knowing they're going to die. Link constantly saves people lives and makes them better, then when he has to revert time he's reverting all those good deeds he did for those people, as if they never happened. This happens over and over throughout the game. Link would be pretty messed up in the head after all of it.

The first fight with him when you're a deku is destined to fail, but after you go through all the temples/dungeons around Termina and get all the boss's masks and stuff, then next time you fight I think you need to play the Oath to Order and things should fall into place for you if I'm not mistaken. It's been a bunch of years since I've played it all the way through though...Oh and play the reverse song of time to help with doing stuff within the three day time period.

To be honest, I think a lot of those people are just bandwagon jumpers that claim to prefer Majora's Mask because it's the cool thing to do. Keep in mind that while I say that, I actually do prefer Majora's Mask. Both are masterpieces, but Majora's Mask just improves the formula in every way (like the awesome mask system and transformations. The atmosphere and emotions it makes you feel is still unmatched to this day, even though games have had nearly two decades to surpass that sense of atmosphere, dread, panic, sadness, and regret. It still hasn't been done.

@@HardcoreGamer4Ever honestly , as a former hater of MM , as a child i kinda got confused by the whole save system , like , i didnt do the 1st cycle in 1 go , didnt realize you save at owl statues , i still think it was weird there was no mid day save feature , and i also got confused with some things like having to look where the feathers land in the ice area , and worst of all , putting the eggs into the water didnt work , i think i only stood on the side of the water , so i legit got stuck there

I remember playing it at a Best Buy demo station. I was so thrown by Deku Link existing but I quickly got crushed by the moon because whoever was playing before just left the game running with the clock ticking and I picked up the controller near the end of the final day.

This is absolutely my favorite game I've ever played, and personally I think this is the best game ever made thus far. From the soundtrack, to the intense emotional impact each seemingly tiny character has is incredible. To this day I haven't had any game completely capture me the way that this game did, the only thing that has even come close has been the original Dark Souls. I'm so thankful I got to grow up with this game, In fact I still have my N64 and Gold Cartridge w/ the Holographic picture. What a fucking game.

Ocarina of Time is a pivotal point in videogames, it changed the way we look at games, stories, gameplay and so much more. Calling OoT anything less than "masterpiece" is an understatement. Majora's Mask in the other hand...is art. It's poetry through gameplay. Or a requiem, if you want to be closer to the actual plot of the game.

I was just about to start Kindergarten and this game was probably out for not even a year. My mother was dating and living with some guy out in the woods. He owned a Nintendo 64 and my brother would play this game all the time. Well one day I got my to play it and my whole life was changed. I didn't know what the heck I was doing in Majora's Mask. I just ran around clock town watching people at certain times, waiting for something neat to happen, watching an old lady get pushed and laughing my ass off to the sound she makes, getting kicked out of the inn at a certain time because I liked hanging out there. I did this for a year until I got good at reading and felt brave to leave Clock Town. I played this game a lot, and some years later I made friends with someone who helped me beat it. This really is my first video game and my favorite.

This wasn’t the first time Happy Mask Salesman was introduced, he was actually first in OOT, Hyrule Castle Town Market. The Happy Mask Shop. At first there’d only be two masks, the Keaton Mask, and some other one that’s on the promo art for MM3D. The Mask Salesman travelled all over, and then he found Termina, that’s why he acts like he knew Link forever.

Really wish Nintendo would just release this again on the Switch. No need to update the graphics or anything, just as it was. The art style and distorted effects really gave that atmosphere that was just surreal, unnerving, and creepy all at once. And the music, still gives me chills hearing the theme of Majora itself with that creepy laugh still clear in my memory. Definitely one of my favorites from childhood by far.

Despite being around 6-8 years old, I still kept on going to finish the video game (in which I was finally able to during my childhood). The reasoning for this game having an E rating was because back in the year 2000, the Entertainment Software Rating Board (or ESRB for short) agreed with Nintendo that giving this title an E rating was fair. Both entities agreed that it is “E for Everyone is going to meet with a terrible fate”.

I got my N64 by means of a hand-me-down from my brother when I was 7 years old. I had Ocarina, but that was _his_ game, that _he_ waited for. I waited for Majora while he moved on from video games at the time. I could have never anticipated just how much of an antithesis to Ocarina the game would be, the intro being a perfect example. Ocarina defined a generation, and its beauty burned a permanent memory in all its players from the very moment they started it up and heard its serene title. A fairy tale fable masterpiece, unquestionably. Majora was like "...but you kids, though? You get the Lynchian shit."
