Same here. The good thing about going the self taught route is that there is a lot of information that’s free and affordable. the bad thing is that there is a lot of information. structure definitely helps with guiding you and reducing the friction in one’s learning process.

Are you using web design as a catch all term? Like are you coding like a web developer too? I find it hard to believe someone will pay 5K+ for a design and no code. Unless you’re also talking about using Wordpress and sites like those to skip the coding process?

So the question is ...how do you consistently keep the 10k + projects? I'm at that level but those are usually bigger projects and longer project timelines and require more time + focus. However I'm a solo studio. So I'm trying to scale while keeping those bigger projects more frequently.

Honestly, when you're working on projects of that scale, the only real feasible way would be to start hiring people. Yeah your personal profit margins per project might decrease, but as an agency you'll be able to finish work quicker, to a higher standard and take on more work.
