Hey Steve, Love your channel. I was able to use your plans and downloaded sketch up and converted it for a regular King size. And aside from a trip to the ER the bed has come together very well (lets just say I should have had a gripper), don't worry I didnt lose the fingure just some meat off it. I also adapted the plans to include 8 drawers instead of 6 as well.

I knew you were going to make a bed this week. I like how it came out. For my money I'd still make the drawers at the head end of the bed and just store stuff in there that you don't pull out very often. Anyone that's been married for a while knows how many um.. "keepsakes" get collected and stored for "someday".

Scaled this model down to a toddler bed for my daughter. Instead of a faux drawer at the foot of the bed I added some white beadboard to contrast the baby blue color that she chose for paint ("It's ok to paint wood." - Steve Ramsey) Thanks for the inspiration and the easy to follow plans. Love the title of your production; if I had my own channel, it would have to be called "Bleep This Bleeping Project," b/c i get a little colorful when I make mistakes, and as a novice, I make plenty of them.

I totally new that you were going to make that! Good work on the bed, your builds are great. A suggestion for anyone building the bed might be a rail in the center for the slates to rest on and make them half the length so you don't have to take them off when dissembling the bed would be cool. Not really a huge deal. Moving is a pain anyway. I have a similar bed that we bought from IKEA. Put it together and made the statement " I hope that we are moving any time soon because I don't want to take this thing apart". We ended up moving 6 months later..... A bed frame that just broke in half with a few screws would have been a good thing!
