hey could you please tell me how to not get the background, when i drop any png file I'm getting the white background with it, I have tried it with your file too and deactivated the base material option too, could you please help me with that

Tutorials are quite outdated and the download files don't contain the needed files to follow the tutorials.

When I download the practice files, I find that they are already at the final result stage. Would it be possible to update the source files to include the base files to follow along with the tutorial? Also, I'm using version 4.5.1--Gruyere, and I noticed some UI elements are not displaying as per the video....for example I don't have "Height" parameters when in "Image to Material" layer; nor do I see "Pattern Selection" when in the "Pattern" layer. Am I missing something? If so what?

but How can I make it "see through" like it is here in substance in Unreal engine 5? I downloaded it, used the substance plugin in unreal, applied my material to a shirt mesh, but the lace is not see through. the open areas are filled with a grey color and you cannot see through the lace. How do I fix this?

Apparently the lace project is broken in the downloads, as an gyi.

@@AdobeCreativeCloud Still saying 'invalid project file' when double clicking to open. Designer doesn't see it as a project file, so on so on. Most of the other project files seem to work. Either way, it's an old video/download, no need to rehash it all now. More of a 'For your information' thing.

Hi, is there a way to change the color of the "Emboss"? It's just an ugly grey... I did a golden embroidery, but then, the ugly grey "emboss" underneath kind of spoils the visual...

Hard to say without seeing your file exactly, there might be a few ways: -Have another solid base material at the lowest layer -Use channel switch to fill in the gray parts (advanced) --Use Color Replace with advanced segmentation to replace the color (also fairly advanced).

I appreciate the tutorial on the software and alchemist/Sampler's development, but it reflects fairly poorly on Adobe's helming of Substance that 1. Sampler doesn't recognize/use the alpha of the Base_Structure.png image included in the .zip tutorial and that 2. the example Sampler file included with the tutorial is un-openable, that is, the demonstration file they provide crashes the software.

Hey Aaron, that's surprising to hear. I just tested all the files again, using the latest version of Sampler, and everything you stated works without issues (believe it or not, we do test and verify all these files before uploading). My suggestion would be to update to the last version of Sampler, update your graphics card drivers, and if that is the case, submit a crash report. If that doesn't work for you, get in touch with the team, the Substance Discord channel might be easiest.

@@Substance3D Apologies, I had updated Sampler to the latest prior to the tutorial. After posting the comment I uninstalled and reinstalled and the issues cleared up. Sorry for the trouble.
