I'm late to your channel. I Grudge race a 2000 z28 Camaro LS base stock suspension. My ? Is my car was hitting so hard from vengeance. Then I let a another local tunner tune it. I noticed rt off it didn't hit as hard. Mind you over 620 life and 245 duration on a 112 lope. So is it just timming that makes it hit harder ? Ps thanks 🙏🏾

Well first off I am not an experienced tuner so my tuning knowledge is not great.But if it was working great with the original tune you had and then after getting tuned the second time something was changed that hurt the power.Less timing can cause it to lose power and being too rich with fuel or too lean can also lose power.You should talk to the last guy that tuned it.Could be that the tune that seemed to make more power may have been dangerously lean or had too much timing that it was getting spark retard and the guy made the tune safer.Too lean or too much timing can destroy an engine.Wish I could be of more help but like I said it takes years and tuning multiple cars to get good at tuning and I just don't have the experience.I tuned my car but that was from many many small changes to get it working well and I suspect a experienced tuner with a dyno could squeeze a little more power out of my car.

Well if you mean Vengeance racing originally tuned your car then it was probably a great tune.I would say the local guy messed up your tune.When tuning a high duration cam like yours you really need to know what you're doing to get it to work properly.You may need to get retuned by Vengeance to get it working like it used too.Like I mentioned the more tuning experience the better the car will work and Vengeance racing has alot of experience and a great reputation.

I done this and it worked except when i adjust it far enough for it to chop it wont stay running it chops and either cleans itself.up and runs normal again or it stalls

Yeah if you have a stock cam you can only go so far with it.My car has a small cam so it has a little chop to start with and when I do this it chops pretty good.Youll have to experiment with it till you get it to the point that it stays running but has a little chop.I actually never tried leaving it for any length of time so it may smooth itself out over time.

@@LSxMotorsports2021 i would add 60%+ to the smoothing and it would chop for a good bit then clean up and idle smooth then i added more it chopped like hell but would stall after a min and if i revved it it would stall when it dropped back to idle but yea its just a stock truck 5.3 with a bump to 10:1 comp

Yeah you will have to back it off a little.It may not chop the way you want but you can only get so much from a stock cam.I actually am still learning this stuff myself really.But on the bright side there are alot of really good cams available for the 5.3 trucks.

What recommendation you have for a good hp tuner...gm platform v6?

Not sure what you are asking.If your asking if you can tune your V6 with HP tuners you would have to go to their website and check to see that you're V6 is supported.Or if your asking about a good person to do tuning for you then I really couldn't make a recommendation.But there are guys out there who tune just about anything.Just take a look on the Internet about whichever vehicle you want to tune and there is usually a group doing the same as you.Check and see what they are doing for tuning or who they are getting to do their tuning.

Did you have any driveability issues from populating the first cells or the 0.0 cells in the overspeed underspeed tables?

No seemed to be ok but I only drove it a short time that way.I personally don't care about having the rough idle so I set mine to idle as smooth as I can get it.It still has some chop too it but not as much as in this video.How this would work on a stock cam I am not sure.I am very inexperienced when it comes to tuning that's why I don't post too much on how to tune.I have tuned my car and it works great but tuning 1 car doesn't qualify me to teach anyone else.The only reason I posted this video is because it is pretty straight forward and you shouldn't get into much trouble messing with the idle.Thanks for watching and commenting.Wish I could be of more help but just not enough experience.

Nope not unless you actually have a aftermarket cam in the engine. I have a cam in my car but it is fairly mild. I prefer a smooth idle but some people like the choppy idle so that's why I made the video.

Well I am not sure.If you had the tuning software I can't see why not but BMW is not supported in HP tuners I don't think.

That's a good question.I would say it shouldn't hurt anything.It only does it at idle,Once you give it throttle it goes back to the normal timing table.But I am new to tuning so I can't say for sure.I will have to do a little digging to give you a better answer.

From what I have read it is not bad for your engine but is bad for the cats if you still have them.But without cats it is fine.May have to play around with the tune to get it where you want it without issues.Meaning if you go to far with it you could have stalling issues when pulling away from a stop or idling around a parking lot.

@@LSxMotorsports2021 for most of us who enjoy motor sports we can either read between the lines or just get it. But I do have a question. I had a guy with HP tune out my cats on my Sierra 5.3 and he’s good no doubt but I do things to my truck here and there and rather not pay and schedule wait and I’d spend too much with him. How much would it cost with HP for me to just learn and do the tuning myself? I looked and there are too many different options and prices and then credits.

Well you need the MPVI2+ which is $399.99......Sucks because the old one like mine was $249.Then to tune you will need credits which you can buy online after you start using it.Older vehicles usually only need 2.Some newer cars need more.You find that out when you look up your truck.Youll need a laptop but almost any laptop will work.Thats pretty much all you need.And then go to Goat rope garage and start learning how to tune.And you can scan the truck while driving without buying credits.You can check and remove trouble codes without credits.Once you do buy credits and apply them to your truck you and tune and retune as many times as you want.Only have to buy the credits once for that particular vehicle.Example it cost me 2 credits to tune my car and another 2 for Stuntman Mike's car.

I have 2010 Sierra with afm vvt and I had the afm deleted but the truck has 283k miles and starting with the lifter tic so I know eventually I’ll have the afm lifter failure and since I need to remove heads I’m just going to do a moderate cam swap. I’ll eventually do gears and torque converter, and headers so I’d rather just do it myself slowly at my pace.

Well if it's a 2010 it is probably not that hard to learn to tune it.Mine was fairly easy.The 2016 Camaro on the other hand is much more Complicated.Good luck and thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
