Hi Gail I enjoyed your baking Tutorial. I love to knead the dough with my hands as well My stand mixer is too heavy to handle. Great method for baking these scrumptious croissants . I never freeze a dough before. I will try it. Thanks for sharing I just need a cup of Tea now 🧋Yummy!😋 Have a blessed beautiful day and weekend. I am excited for your next recipe, I love pumpkin. ❤

Thank you for being a loyal supporter Tracie! Hand kneading takes me less time than cleaning the mixer! And I love the feel of the dough. I do use the stand mixer when I am making a lot of cookies...especially at Christmas. Enjoy the tea and the weekend!

@@gailskitchen You are most welcome ! It's my Pleasure! Yes it takes time to clean up when using a stand mixer. But it is great to use to make big batches baked products. Like cookies 🍪 that's great. Thank you, God bless!!🙏😇❤️

its funny because my grandmother cooked everything from scratch but i dont think she baked very much. regardless, she made crescent rolls for thanksgiving and xmas my entire life and they were 100% from the can. these look identical but i am certain they are better. i think i could compete in an eating contest with your crescent rolls :)

Thanks Eric 😊My mother is the same way…everything from scratch except the stuffing is from a box, rolls are store-bought, and pie crusts are from the freezer section of the store. So I am a self-taught baker. I am fairly new at bread making and now I make all my own bread. Making the YT videos has given me a reason to keep trying new recipes (new for me) like these crescent rolls. Fortunately, most of the recipes have worked out so far! I did not think I would become a good baker bc it took me twenty years to get a pie crust to work! However, I was a career-oriented person and did not have time to devote to pie crusts. I have spent a lot of time reading recipes over the years and fortunately understand ratios and that seems to me to be the key to baking.

@@gailskitchen i would have guessed that you had been baking your whole life! just due to your interest in it. i have to say - you should have saved this one for a week before thanksgiving. make sure you release a 'short' version of this a few days before! it will have to go crazy.

I truly appreciate the advice. I posted a short for this one but I also did not spend much time on it, so I have been working on another one and was going to scrap it out of boredom at this stage…I really didn’t think about the timing of this one…I was thinking about the sequel to it and what made me do this one was a negative comment I read about canned crescent rolls…and I thought maybe I should make them so I have the dough for the Pumpkin Pecan Braid video. I figured worst case, I would have some ugly crescent rolls if they didn’t work. On that note, I published Pecan Pie Bars a week before Thanksgiving in my first year and it is still my number one video. That was dumb luck…I really had not given it much thought and published it at the last minute. When views started taking off, I was shocked. This year, I have a somewhat similar video ready to go and I have been debating the timing of it. I actually had it scheduled to post last Friday and I changed it to this Friday. I was originally thinking of the week before Thanksgiving…so I’m glad you made the comment bc I think I will hold it. It is a somewhat unique item and I give a review at the end of the video. I now think it’s best to wait and also from the perspective that I can preserve the element of surprise , so to speak…meaning I don’t want anyone else to see it and have time to copy me. I was considering asking your opinion, so I’m happy about your comment!

I started baking pies in my mid-to late 20”s…specifically pecan pies, which I now consider my specialty, but always with the frozen pie crust like my mother. I started baking cakes in my 30’s or so, hard o recall. I tried making more and more difficult cakes. I have always been interested in pies and cakes and I have spent just about every spare moment reading and.collecting recipes. I have always cooked, since a little girl, and I find cooking a basic skill. I think baking challenges me more and I was determined to get to the point of making a homemade pie crust….which just happened to come together for me one day, and I was so thankful because I have thrown a lot of pie dough against the wall!
