Great tips. I learned a few tips today. Sometimes when i do my eyeshadow, ill only set my primer from the crease to the brow bone. That way my matte shades blend well but my lids are still a bit tacky to make my shimmery lid shade pop.

So love your channel and its mission to help make the most of our collection! One thing I do is since I'm not the best at blending my eyeshadow is after I've done my look I take a little setting spray on a flat synthetic brush and gently go over my eyes. This helps melt the colors a little bit and make them look less harsh and it helps the look last.

Thanks for this terrific video! Growing up in the 1970s and early 1980s, I read all sorts of "tips and tricks" (a.k.a. "hacks) to prolong makeup's useful life, to expand it's uses, and to use everyday products in our beauty routines. (Vaseline or baby oil to remove eyemakeup, anyone?). Waste and excessive consumerism were frowned upon during that time. So I am happy to see a video like this. We need more of them. Please make this a series or a tag! Cheers! ~Anastacia in Cleveland

I'd never though about black eyeshadow, however, I use my highlighters, specially the color ones to make a shadow lighter, it also creates a nice shimmer. And I also like to combine my shimmery shadows, specially if I want a specific color or just for fun, or I use blush as eyeshadow , the milani ones are beautiful, :) ⭐

I never thought about just using water as a setting spray. That makes me think that I can add water to some of my existing setting sprays that might be a little too heavily scented or high in alcohol. That will increase the moisture content and I think it will allow me to use those setting sprays more. Thanks Kelly!

Great tips! I also find that if my foundation or concealer is too heavy/cakey, if I mix in a drop or 2 of facial oil, or even tap it overtop with a sponge afterwards, it makes a huge difference.

I bought a nude lipstick that is so close to my skin tone without realizing it. So I look like I have no lips. If I use a red lipstick or red lip liner underneath, it makes the nude color look more pinky nude. And then you can see the contrast.

The Nyx white eyeshadow base in the jar creases so much. 😖 Would not recommend. My favorite mixer foundation to thin out foundations that are too thick is the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation. And a drop of jojoba oil. Turns foundations that were unusable into products I like using.

@Puglover1305 жыл бұрын
karen g. Use a eyeshadow primer in the area where it peels off , if it’s because of touching or rubbing (ie nose , chin) the tackier bass helps adhere. If it’s because the skin is literally peeling you need to better exfoliate the night before.

I almost always do the brush trick to tone down contour and blush that's too pigmented but usually with what's left on my powder brush instead of my foundation brush, works every time, I can even carve out my contour yet still tone it down a bit it and makes everything look seemless especially when I have to do my makeup in bad lighting and accidentally go a bit overboard. I'm scared to do the setting spray trick when things are looking cakey bc I tried it once and it didn't work. Idk if it was the particular setting spray I used (elf mist & set), the fact that I had used concealer as foundation that day, or bc I didn't have a sponge to push everything back together but I was in public and very confidently drenched my face believing it would dry and look fine, NOPE! It was even more cakey and separated, particularly around my nose. It looked like my face was melting off and when it dried it didn't look any better... Now I just stick to my always trusted elf tone correcting pressed powder for touch ups and stay away from matte and cakey foundations and concealers.

OMG, thank you! Just wondering; would a mineral sunscreen work as a white base? I have the [not so] "invisible zinc" sunscreen and I turns me ashy. It's a little sticky to the touch and fairly thick, do you reckon it'll work for a white base? Also, I saw a hack for dry mascara and putting a few drops of visine in it to loosen it up a little, is this something that could work?

I think it also depends on your POV...If a white concealer/base, etc. you buy once, improves the performance of EVERY lackluster shadow you have , I personally think it's worth the investment. You'll enjoy the outcome more, & get more use from the products you already have, instead of looking for a better performing version.
