42:15 - Well, that one is a reference to Cassandra of Troy, a woman with the power to see into the future but struck with the curse that everyone ignores her which drives her mad because she sees that Troy will fall by the hands of the Spartans but can't do anything about it. Btw, Apollo gave her the "gift of seeing" as a payment for raping her. After that she told him to go to hell (or hades :p) so he cursed her with the "noone will believe you" thing because for some reason Gods can't revert their own gifts, they can only alter the preexisting blessing into a better one or a curse.

11:33 There is potentially some nuance to this question. Depending on what the latter part implies, you would theoretically be informed of when your life would end three years in advance (given that's when the money would be made spendable). I think some people for very good reason might not want to know when they would die (i.e. you're in your twenties and suddenly you can spend it - minkus). I still think it's worth pressing given you can then use the money how you see fit for those remaining three years, but I can definitely see a case for why some might not want to press it here. EDIT: Ah I noticed someone in chat brought it up, nevermind.

29:27 An interesting philosophical question indeed. I would argue that the "correct" answer depends on the definition of "wildest" and "dream". Do you get to know it what said dream is? Reading the statement as is, and given that most people barely remember a fraction of their dreams, the odds of something completely nonsensical - if not outright cataclysmic - happening would be, quite high in my opinion, making the upside a downside. However, assuming that the expression was used to designate a possible, but highly unlikely aspiration/desirable situation, it could be argued that wishing for an end to climate change, war, etc. would fall under this definition, at which point the downside becomes completely trivial. TL;DR The question is worded so vaguely that it could be interpreted as having no upside, no downside or anything in between.

Yeah, the Milky Way already contains somewhere between 10 million and 1 billion black holes, what's one more? Our galaxy is ~100,000 light years in diameter, so the odds of the black hole spawning within 1 light year (which is still a non-issue?) are like 1 in 10 billion. That's ignoring the 3rd dimension since the Milky Way isn't a flat disk, so it's probably lower than 1 in 1 trillion. Of course, the jackpot in this scenario is the destruction of our Solar System, so maybe those odds are still too high. 0.000000001% chance everyone dies so you can portal around is probably worth more than a 5% chance your friend dies so you can bonk Orihime, though

Our own sun will destroy us in a few billion years. Much quicker than the supermassive black hole in the center of our galaxy. Estimates suggest there are already 10 million to 1 billion "stellar" black holes already wandering through the milky way. These stellar black holes are about 10 to 100 times the mass of the sun and are the remains of dead giant stars. We will never interact with one of these because the chances are so low. Our sun will eat us before it happens. Overall adding a few black holes wont change anything. Unless we get INFINITELY unlucky and spawn one right on top of us.

With the portal gun you could fire only twice (once on a ceiling and once at the ground below), thereby not risking too much, and create a perpetual motion device powered by gravity by dropping something in to fall infinitely. Northernlion my man about the black hole question there are already many many many black holes in the Milky way and the probability that one more will cause problems is so incredibly remote. To get an idea of the size of the galaxy, and the amount of empty space, when the billions of stars in the milky way collide with the billions of stars in Andromeda, it is unlikely any of the individual stars would actually hit each other. Also, a black hole would have to pretty much be in the solar system to cause serious problems. Also you seemed very dismissive of the portal gun. Instant transportation? We could have colonies on Mars and the Moon today, and way cooler ones than we could have if we needed to fly everything there. Anyways, please reconsider your answer.
