Isn't it lumpy now? Is there a way to make the 2 separate parts stick together without tearing it?

Hi thanks for watching, No, if it’s separated well then it’s not lumpy and this is how it’s done in the factories except with a machine to make it faster, the polyester is loose when first put in and the fibres knit together over time and need to be separated.

They forgot one important thing you will need to add more fibre in cushion case to fill the cushion cover out properly, they didn’t show the cushion interior back in it’s cover because it would still look baggy

Hi and thanks for watching and commenting. Yes you can add more fibre, and sometimes have to, to avoid the covers being baggy but it’s not necessary in every instance. Fibre doesn’t disappear it gets compressed over time and separating it will bring it back to near the original density which, if it was filled correctly, will be fine for an easy fix as shown in this video. This was made to show people how to fix bad cushions for free which meant utilising all the original filling and these cushions once back in their covers most definitely weren’t baggy.

@@premierupholstery-upholste90 Hi I started in the furniture trade when I was 16 years old and started my own business when I was 21 years old I am now 56 years old, and in all that time I have never managed to re-tease a fibre filled back cushion without having to add more fibre, unless you like shabby-chic regards Mike

Really pleased that I found this video. My IKEA sofa cushions were hard and lumpy, but after following the instructions on this video they are like new! Not gonna lie - it's time consuming to refluff the fibre thoroughly, but definitely worth it.

Hi, thank you for watching and we’re happy to be able to help. Yes it’s definitely time consuming and sometimes we take them home in the evenings to do in front of the TV 😁.

Didn't this need extra filling...
@premierupholstery-upholste903 жыл бұрын
Hello, once the original filling was separated and fluffed there was enough to fill out the old covers again, sometimes we do add more when the covers are lose or customer requests that the fillings be firmer than they were originally.
