In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

What made Rose's attempt so perfect was how she got you watching the gate expecting it to burst open at any moment, then a bush suddenly sprints into the middle of the driveway.

Honestly, David's was pretty great despite the lacking enthusiasm. Definitely tough competition though, considering the other fantastic entrances

So for one single contestant the tasks are filmed during a couple of days. Imagine it like 2-3 tasks in the morning, lunch break, 2-3 tasks in the evening. Like a regular working day (for the crew definitely). And then they get running late, or want to squeeze 1,5 days' tasks in one, so the contestant ends up doing some tasks late, after hours, totally tired from the whole day activity... Seeing it was filmed in the dark, no wonder David has lost his enthusiasm by the end of that filming day.

tbh i kinda like the idea of points being not as strict on artistic challenges, it would give incentive for the contestents to be more ambitious

I just love Greg and Alex play off of each other. I know a lot of it is rehearsed and a lot of it isn't and so those moments are genuinely funny.
