Beautiful! I must say I wasn't raised as a seven day adventage but my mom started honoring it and it really made a difference in our life. We stop shopping on the weekend because we found the truth that man created those days for shopping and the sabbath is really Saturday and not Sunday.

Thank you for showing how you guys keep the Sabbath! I recently learned about the sabbath truth and want guidance on how to keep it holy. I usually keep the sabbath by playing worship music and praying on Fridays when the sunsets. Then watch Little light studios or a message on KZbin. In the morning I get dressed and wear one of my dresses, I decided to wear dresses only on the sabbath to keep it special. But I haven’t found a local church so I watch a church my mom found online and eat breakfast. I live with my parents, my mom believes in keeping the sabbath but she stays up late on Friday nights so she sleeps in the morning or stays in bed. My dad doesn’t believe we’re bound to keeping the law but sometimes he’ll watch the sermon with me. After the sermon I walk around the backyard. Then read some magazines from amazing facts. Then watch another message from the online church. I usually spend the day watching messages. Then play worship music and pray for the rest of the week when the sunsets.

There are lots of seventh Day Adventist churches that are on line. Andrews University is my favorite. When I was growing up we always welcomed the Sabbath with sundown worship. Friday we spent the day cleaning and prepping our special sabbath meal. It was the only day of the week we would have a desert. We'd go to church. Sabbath lunch was either fellowship at church, Inviting others or visitors to our home, being invited to others homes. After the meal we would go for a nature walk to one of our many state parks. (grew up in Western NY) On the Sabbaths we had pot luck we would go to a local nursing home and sing to the residents there. in the evening we would have worship at the closing of the Sabbath with popcorn and fruit. (we were never that hungry after having such a big lunch). Then we played board games with our friends. In boarding school we would line the halls of the basement with the lights off and sing, Sing hallelujah to the lord. The acoustics were great.

This was what Sabbath was like for me as a child in Brooklyn NY. We did not have the nice open fields and nature, but my mom made Sabbath so special for her children. Today's children dreads when the Sabbath comes, and can't wait for it to be over.

It depends on how it is presented to them. It should not be a day filled with fonts and can't. Maybe special things can be done on that day. Modern life especially in the city makes it challenging but each family can invent their own traditions to make it enjoyable. It dies not have to be all day sitting in church

Our Fridays are usually just a busy day like every other day, which doesn't leave me much time to prepare for Sabbath very well. What a lovely family you have I used to be Catholic but hadn't attended church for some time & then I learnt the truth about the sabbath I'm from the UK so didn't think there'd be any sabbath keeping churches where I live but I've managed to find an sda church just 13 miles away from me & have been attending for several weeks now & have also started bible study with them I appreciate your video on how to keep the sabbath holy.

This was beautiful! I really liked the song you used to begin Shabbat - I knew you were SDA before you even said it because of the Vege dish. We begin Shabbat a little differently - we do it around our table, we light a Shabbat candle etc.... and we have our big meal & Shabbat celebration. It was definitely a delight to watch your family's Sabbath traditions. Thank you for sharing with us! You asked us to share what we do. Many similar things actually, but one thing we have done unique is to pile into a van with my parents and we all go out counting deer. This Sabbath we saw 143 deer that we were blessed with for the closing of the Sabbath. Also other wildlife that made us very thankful for God's wonderful works of creation. I love the idea of a Sabbath morning walk.
