Dill is not a tropical herb. Here in the Philippines, one can never find dill in the local markets. It is hardly sold even in big supermarkets in Metro Manila - and mind you, I love using herbs when cooking, so I just use what's readily available (whenever necessary): lemongrass, basil, lemon basil, celery, chives, leeks, curly parsley, kinchay, dried bay leaves and driend oregano. Otherwise, I simply make do with just the basics: garlic, onion, black pepper, chili and ginger.

ASMR? With all the loud chopping, pounding and clattering at the beginning?! Noooo….. I had to immediately mute the sound! Rather than being relaxing, this could quickly trigger a migraine for me. There are many other cooking channels that have thoughtfully produced ASMR sound experiences. This is *not* that, at least not for me. I still appreciate the recipe, though.

So you basically made cacık without slicing them into tinier pieces like we have in Turkiye as side dish next to our dishes. I agree that its yummy. we have both watery and drier version like you did so watery one is good next to oily dishes and drier version like you do is good next to dishes but also really yummy as spread too!

This looks delicious! Makes me think of tzatziki sauce but better! In the Southern states of America, we enjoy cucumber sandwiches. Mix equal parts Mayo and cream cheese, smear on soft white bread and add a cucumber slice. Can top with dill also but I bet that the chive in the mayo mixture would be delicious! I’m going to try it! ❤

Hello, I am from Iraq. I saw this recipe, and it is completely identical to Jajik. It is a type of appetizer we have, and it is my favorite. I always make it. I did not expect that dill is very expensive for you. Here we treat it as a natural plant. The important thing is that you try the recipe and be happy.

Btw, that thing with THE HAND , so creepy… straight out of “ Adams family” 🤪

I like how Asia discovers Balkan and Mediteran recipes. Something we eat regularly is new somewhere else. "Hard to find dille" - it's not the same without dille. Before dille gets to you very supermarket in Asia you can use finely chopped parsley instead. And ditch the lemon juice. Greek yoghurt is sligtly sour and that's enough.
@r_2005_ooo Жыл бұрын
Yes that's right and you can also put plain yogurt and you can also omit the garlic and put black pepper sometimes. Sometimes I put homemade tomato paste instead of yogurt, it's also delicious, or you can't put parsley or something else, just lemon, yogurt and cucumber, it's delicious and fast
