Make This Year Different (A Course in Miracles' New Year's Teachings)

A Course in Miracles teaches that time is unreal, yet it also speaks of giving a “year” to God. The Text refers to the New Year 11 times, saying, “This is the year for the application of the ideas that have been given you”. And the Workbook refers to its year 6 times, calling it “the year that we have given God”. In this episode, Robert and Emily will explore both the Text’s and the Workbook’s vision of a year given to God. How do we do that? Are we supposed to make an actual New Year’s resolution? And if so, what is it? And how does this approach to the New Year relate to making our usual resolutions to lose weight, go to the gym, get organized, etc.? Emily and Robert discuss all of these questions at length, resulting in an episode that might just transform how you approach the New Year.

Off and on throughout my studies with the course, I question who's voice am I actually hearing and is it really a voice or more of a gut feeling? When Robert was talking about being corrected on things we are doing or saying throughout the day, that life doesn't have to be a white-water rafting trip 24 - 7 that hit home! If there's one thing ive done a 180° on its knowing how too calm those white caps by simply allowing myself to choose again. I'm fully aware of ego's playbook but there are those day's when I missed something and things start unraveling all around me. Being judgemental and gossiping are two actions the Holy Spirit Immediately pinches me. I hear myself and stop. Miracles are everywhere! These last two videos feel like the were made for me. I was told while meditating recently that the time for studying was over, and that I need to start applying what I I have learned. Also, knowing that you both experience the same things we all do even after all this time, in an odd way hopeful, it lets me know I am on the correct path even when it doesn't seem like it. You two are so down to earth and things you question are the things I question too. Lucky to have found the circle. I agree with Emily and wish there was some kind of monastic course community we could go to so we could have one pointed concentration and study to the course. Part of the reason why one cant accept the guidance or solution once she/he sees the goodness of it is that human physio-psycho neural structure is deeply conditioned by decades, if not millenia (genetically speaking), of old way of thinking and perceiving. Subconscious mind works with deep ingrained habits, and to undo the wrong way of perceiving, which is the foundation of all further thinking, would take years or decade(s) of day to day practise of 180 degree different perceiving. At least this is my experience.
