I had a late 1800's Queen Beaver Cookstove when my youngins were growing up. And hunted til I found a gorgous cookstove, had it put in my kitchen 4 yrs ago. Heated my house and cooked on it in the winters ever since and i love it. Am teaching my 20 yr old grandson how to use it to cook on and he loves it. Im 77 and my great gran and my gran had one. I loved spending time with them and learned so much from them. My kids always said i was born in the wrong era. Smiles. God Bless you and your family ❤️🙏🇺🇲⚘️ family.

Years ago I stayed at a timeshare in that area and couldn’t believe the narrow curvy roads in thick trees. I rented a pontoon by myself on Greer’s Ferry Lake and had a memorable day driving around and fishing! So gorgeous it reminded me of Alabama. That lake had so many retirees and I remember thinking about settling there. Great visit in those parts and definitely going back. 🩷

Flax seed oil is ideal for things like inside that oven. It's a dry oil and excellent for setting cast iron pans seasoning too.

Beautiful road trip!! Seeing Mr. Brown in his overalls made me remember always buying my Grampa, new ones and begging him to give me his old ones so I could wear them in the summer. I just loved the feel of them being so worn in. One year I got him 6 baby chickens to take home back to Boise, ID and had to laugh when he told me they all turned out to be Roosters and drove him crazy with the morning crowing!

This Stove is similar to what my grandma used in the winter time and she used a coal oil stove in the summer. Years ago and I remember well,most people had a summer kitchen to keep the heat out of house!

What beautiful country! I retired in 12/2021 but haven't been able to do as much camping as we'd like the oast few years. My parents took my 3 brothers and I camping since we were toddlers. I was raised a flatIander but have always felt more at home in the mountains. I love your outdoor kitchen, too! Mr. Brown sure is a handy guy to have around. Mr. Man is like him...he'll spend all day out in his shop "fabricating" all kinds of stuff. He was raised in the country where you had to learn to make a lot of the stuff you needed because money was tight and they couldn't always buy new. The weather is cooling down and we got 0.40 inches of rain yesterday. So I baked a hot milk cake for an after school treat yesterday. Then I made sloppy joes with chicken gumbo soup like my Momma used to. Today I have baby carrots and a rolled beef roast in a crockpot with beef bouillon,honey,basil and rosemary. I also made brown sugar muffins. For dessert I baked a "Tell Your Neighbor Cake". It's a cake mix, instant pudding, water and eggs baked in a bundt pan or amgel food pan. You put brown paper on the bottom with no grease. Looking forward to dinner tonight. I'm 73 years old living in Portland, Oregon. I have 10 grandchildren with 8 of them living.

Wire cup wheel brush attached to a drill will make short work of that surface rust, you can take it all the way down to shiny metal if desired, it is a labor of love.
