sister Josephine, don't be deceived by these people. What you need is God's Holy Law of Love which is a safeguard for your Soul. The foundation of the Law is " Love one another and all the creatures of God. Love is the fulfilling of the law for Love is of God and God is Love." Therefore if you still eat flesh meat and blood of God's innocent creatures, cease to do evil, repent and amend your ways to God's Holy of Love. God is Good, Just and Bountiful and ordains that man shall eat fruits of the earth alone.(Genesis 1:29) This is the message you need in your fallen churches not the imaginations of those corrupted men. Listen to the words that will save your soul not those that will destroy her. Let them who have ears hear. Peace and love be with you and your loved ones.

What a truly honest and faithful man John Piper is. He is a realist that loves the Lord with his whole being and is never afraid to address whatever question that is put to him. He so lifts my spirit and helps me to press into my Lord when things are confusing and you can’t feel the presence of God in the day to day life with all the pressures and just normal living that life brings.He never disappoints me or the gospel of Christ. What a gift he is to my life. I eagerly await meeting in him glory one day

I just can't take these self aggrandizing questions. Can people be honest and ask honest questions? i.e. I'm in sin, how do I get out? I don't like or love my neighbors, how do I change that.. If I've been a bad neighbor, didn't fix my lights on time, and HOA sent me a letter, or my neighbors don't like me parking my car where I park it, does that hinder my sharing the gospel with them, and honestly they annoy me... how to change that in me? When David says something like "God is a sun and a shield for those who fear Him" does David mean that all these blessings apply only to those that fear God, love God, obey His commandments? if so I'm screwed, because most of my life I don't fear God, love God or obey His commandments? I'm afraid I disciplined my kids in anger, or didn't discipline them enough, will this have an irreparable effect on them when they grow up, will they turn away from me and I'll be a hinderers to them getting to know God? ETC... These self aggrandizing questions like "I'm doing all this work, with all these kids, and I'm sharing the gospel, and discipling young kids, Mr. Piper, how do I do this better? Like what the heck?

1Life- Live4Christ I think it’s divisive regardless. However how divisive is it and does that divisiveness hinder? I’d argue that it wouldn’t as long as arrogance isn’t present. The hinderance would hang on the listener for not being able to dismiss their disagreement.

Only Jesus is God. All others have already been defeated by Jesus the King of kings and Lord of lords, only He is King, Only He can save us. Jesus can save us from sin. Jesus is waiting for you to come to him, He'll never cast you away from himself. He calls us all to repentance,he knocks on the door of our hearts because he loves us and wants to save us. when you do believe and the Holy Spirit will come in and lead you to repent of your sins and God will forgive you of your sins and cleanse you by the blood of Jesus and you'll get born again by His Holy Spirit and have His salvation, you will become a new creation. He is the savior of the world and he can save you, no sin is too great no mountain is too high, for he will come and save you when you call upon his holy name❤ 📖🕊Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 📖🕊Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 📖🕊Romans 10:12-13 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 📖🕊1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 📖🕊1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 📖🕊2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Pastor john ,if for salvation is to trust Christ, why is the first of the commandments is Love your God not trust your God {Mat 22:37} but when we are saved by grace , it says, its not because we love God but because he loved us and gave his son for us ,to be received by faith. So is faith and love mixed in saving faith or we received the love of God by faith freely. Faith ,hope ,love abide together 1 cor 13:13 . but love is the greatest same like the first commandment. We are saved by faith not by love ,so why is love greater than faith?
@saved6655
@saved6655 2 жыл бұрын
Kindly I would like to respond. Tell me where you see love Me and you will be saved anywhere in the scripture. What you will find is believe repent and you will be saved. That’s all because scripture explains salvation that way. If you have faith then of course love is going to be wrapped in that. But ultimately we are saved by confessing Christ as Lord and BELIEVING in our hearts God raised Him from the dead!!! Jesus says repent and believe Jesus says anyone who believe shall have eternal life ext…. No where do you see love Me and you will be saved. Now we do see this if you Love Me then you will obey my commandments. But that means just that if so what has to happen first? Salvation, and how are we saved through faith Paul Peter Jude Jesus ext.. all say this

John Pipers life definately counts! He and his god Paul have done more to Divert people from the Real Jesus..Who Presented HIMSELF eloquently in HIS Sermon on the Mount..right along with the rest of Christians who are actually followers of Paul. Christians don't even Know What Jesus said or what HIS commandments are..or that they can have a personal relationship with Jesus..without all the confusing nonsense from church with its Heirachy of titled men who discuss Paul's and their own philosophies of Jesus..instead of actually reading what Jesus said and what HIS commandments are.

how would you delineate someone as a follower of Paul vs. a follower of Jesus? Esp in light of Paul's call to believers to "follow me as (or in the manner, or to the extent that) I follow Christ" in 1 Cor 11:1?

In this video Piper responds to the hostility that is shown towards the doctrines of grace. In actual fact, it’s all about the words. Ask any non-elect person who is in hell because he was not chosen to believe if he considers this doctrine to be grace. Where is the grace for the non-elect? In explaining Salvation Piper says, “you got saved ultimately and decisively by the work of the Holy Spirit.” Does anyone disagree with this? Has any non-Calvinist ever raised an objection to this? Do non-Calvinists teach that the sinner wakes up one morning and decides that he is going to be saved? Actually, we are saved ultimately and decisively by God's grace, however, the non-Calvinist understands that it is indeed the Holy Spirit who saves. Piper then provides the alternative view of Salvation by saying it comes by, “the ultimate self-determination of the human will.” I grew up in a Baptist church, I have listened to dozens of pastors speak on Salvation, I have attended numerous conventions, participated in countless Bible studies and I have never heard the way of Salvation expressed in those words. As Paul said to the Hebrews - today if you hear his voice, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS It’s very simple, if the Holy Spirit speaks to us we can choose to listen or we can harden our hearts and decide not to listen. If we listen and receive Him then He gives us the power to become sons of God. I believe Piper is being very deceptive by misleading his listeners into believing that these two options are the only two options that explain the way of Salvation.

so grace is only grace if it meets your (our any person's) definition? Do you define grace from your intellect or from scripture? Do you refute the idea that "the only ones who can come to the son are those that are drawn by the Father", or "the only ones who see the Father are the ones to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him"? (John 6:44 and Matt 11:27 respectively). These are scriptures, not man's ideas or definitions.

Greg, If you 'think' Piper is deceptive, you need to check your own heart! In addition to insinuation of another brother, you simultaneously indict God by what and how 'ought' to entail the nature of Grace. The semantic distinctive of 'Grace' itself is 'favor' and favor is only a distinction based upon its absence. Grace is necessarily of distinction(s) in every sphere, and this distinction is, by necessity, of differentiation. There is no Grace of indifference- for Grace that is indifferent is non-existent. Not understanding this is the problem with the "countless" Bible studies in "Baptist church" that you've grown up in (and I'm Baptist myself). It is the same principle of a fish not knowing its wet (ignorance) because the very chains of environment that you've listed are-&- have their own incestuous reiteration that then gives rise to the obstinance that you're displaying (insinuation of another brother-and imposition on God towards condemned people (who are so by the very necessity of His own law). This indignation towards God is the very point of liberalism's metastasization in the previous century "because God can't possibly morally condemn the whole of humanity" (as the narrative goes). And this incestuous environment that is the majority of American nominal Christianity now insists that "God must 'check with me' for me to be condemned". Your caricature of "non- calvinist(s)" teaching that a sinner "wakes up one morning and decides that he is going to 'be saved'" is disingenuous on your part because that's precisely the mechanisms that are set up (if only tacitly involuntary). This necessarily is the 'machination(s)' of American consumerism on the Gospel, and the Holy Spirit is an 'additive that increases the chance' that someone will "accept Jesus". You know this in your 'noetic mind' even if you are desensitized to it (which is part of the whole issue). Gospel presentations in America are as much for the churches themselves as they are about actual conversion- necessarily as a consequence of 'soteriological extrapolation'. Your indictment of Piper is overtly close to the most ridiculous thing anybody could postulate- while then coming out with your own mental sleight-of-hand of "waking up one morning and deciding…". You deny this, but that's precisely the encapsulated formula of inevitability. This is more a collective effect of evangelicalism maneuvering in a modern scientistic empirically-driven culture… than it is a product of intentionality- but your out-and-out caricature and denial of the existence and prominence of this with the overtone of your indictment of Piper is something that should startle you rather than propel the 'sniping of sites' with Piper (which is demonstrably an 'MO' of yours). This whole phenomenon has an organic self-propulsion that has domesticated God and caused indignation and outrage of God - even over Coronavirus (this is ubiquitous and undeniable). In consideration of the probable genuineness of your intention (at the expense of the contradictory demonstration, I just delineated)... Any Redeemed person would wholeheartedly concur about the spread of the Gospel- but it seems you have fallen prey to polemics (which is an easy ensnarement, especially in opposition to an elitist notion of the Doctrines of Grace... but I would submit to you that this domestication of God by a volitional apprehension of 'belief' as 'mental assent' is more dangerous and culpable for the nominalism that is Christianity today. This (common) accusation of Piper is absurd and shows poorly on the individuals who propagate it- especially since Piper is the most non-threatening person in evangelicalism today. But he doesn't care about man's objection- and that's the whole point. He graciously diverts any aggression to the momentum of the Gospel (as it should be). When and if you get that God chooses people -when He shouldn't by his own Justice (just look at what is going on in our own backyard with rioting, destruction, looting, killing in the destruction and barbarism that secularism has created)- that's when true humility and bowing of the knee occurs. It's a paradigm that is very telling of your own position and it should frighten you. But you probably think you're 'humble' (even though you come out in diatribe against Piper, etc.). This is God showing you the contrary. We must all check ourselves to the paradigm shift of our modern self-centrism. It's important to reiterate that nothing I have said has been in contentious tone but rather in an imperative of concern. You think you're defending God when you're actually shaking your fist to Him.

@@scottcarter1689 Something Calvinists are notorious for is misinterpreting the words written. I did not say Piper was deceptive, I said Piper was deceptive in claiming that there are only two options to understand salvation. Piper is not deceptive in many of his other teachings. I can’t believe you think I indict God by saying what ought to entail the nature of God. Paul said, “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men.” It is your theology; the ‘doctrines of grace’, that indict God by saying what ought to entail the nature of God. Calvinist doctrine limits God’s grace to the elect only, perhaps just 5% to 10% of the world’s population. Considering that God is rich in grace and mercy, how is this grace when it is given to so few of God’s fallen creation? I agree with your claim that grace is “necessarily of distinction”. Where we differ is in defining the ‘distinction.’ Calvinists believe that before the foundation of the world God chose, from the pleasure of His will, those who would be saved. Non-Calvinists believe God chooses to save the humble; those that come humbly before Him and repent in faith. Before the foundation of the world God determined that all those who freely come to Christ would be holy and blameless. I don’t wish to comment on all your ramblings although I do agree that there is much error in the church today and this should not be surprising because the Bible teaches that in the last days they will no longer endure sound doctrine. I must comment on statement, “Your indictment of Piper is overtly close to the most ridiculous thing anybody could postulate.” How is this for a ridiculous statement, given by Piper - “God meticulously determined all the heinous desires and subsequent evil actions of every creature who has ever lived in such a way that they could not have done otherwise, including the rapes of children, the holocaust, slavery, torture, EVERY SINGLE EVIL THOUGHT AND EVIL INCLINATION because that was what He planned and ultimately desired to come to pass in order to bring Himself glory.” So God determines the rape of children as well as EVERY SINGLE EVIL THOUGHT AND EVIL INCLINATION; and you think my statement was ridiculous even though I showed you that there are not two views of salvation, as claimed by Piper, but three. Since you mentioned Covid I find it interesting that in a two hour ebook Piper claims that God determined Covid to come about and yet John MacArthur is now claiming that Covid is fake and that we are all being played. So which of these two positions has been determined by God? Perhaps God determined both positions since, according to the Calvinist’s definition of sovereignty, God determines all that comes about. So, who is looking ridiculous now? And since you are such a great defender of Piper’s theology then perhaps you could answer my initial question on his behalf - where is the grace for the non-elect?

John has a lot more life experience and wisdom than me. But most Protestant based, theologically distorted, historically disconnected versions of the so-called good news will always end up sounding significantly less good, less profound, less loving, and less powerful than It actually is. And sadly, Piper has been taught within these systems of thought. One read of Athanasius “On the Incarnation” (written 323 AD), let alone any other variety of Christianity will leave you questioning, “How in the world does ‘Evangelical Christianity’ have such a poor perspective on God and Grace and remain content with it?” Cheers.
