Amazing! And I would add a tiny bit of turmeric powder for the yellow peachy undertones in my skin and see if that works. Possibilities are endless!! Edit: made my first batch tonight and it's lovely! I did use turmeric and also Rhassoul clay to achieve a more olive-peachy skin tone. I used cassia cinnamon rather than Ceylon, which is darker, so I also added a little non nano zinc oxide powder to both lighten it back up and add sunblock capabilities. Thanks Heidi!! So fun.

I can see using this recipe as a base for blusher, eyeshadow, eyebrow makeup, highlighter, concealer, bronzer... so many different applications. And you could use so many different things to color them. Spinach powder, soot, charcoal, iron oxide, turmeric, etc. Of course you would need to be careful that anything you use is nontoxic and nonirritating. But you should be able to produce a pretty good pallet using organic, natural substances.

French green clay, bentonite clay and tapioca starch aren't that easily come by where I live in rural Ireland, but, I have made something like this with organic cacao powder and non-GMO cornflour from Aldi and mixed it in with what I had left of my Cornsilk loose face powder ( does anyone remember that? Great stuff and only a fiver but can't get it anymore!) and I find it works well . Luckily GMO isn't allowed here in EU countries, nor in the UK!

If the clay helps with acne, my granddaughter needs it for sure. Her acne isn't too bad (I've seen much worse), but it decreases her confidence. That's not good for a 12 year old that is already fighting both autism and depression. Should I increase the amount of clay to starch? Or is 12-1 (your starting point) the proper ratio for acne prone skin.
@RainCountryHomestead5 жыл бұрын
I would not increase the clay as it could change the color to be too grey or green, try it as is first. You can also make a clay mask out of the bentonite clay and I have a recipe for that. It works quite well for acne: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWS2hYVuhtd2pKc

Hey Heidi! I have auburn hair and as you may know, auburn hair grays more slowly. My gray is mostly in my temple/sideburn area. I would love to know a natural way to cover these areas (even temporarily). Do you have any suggestions? I don’t mind graying, but I don’t like having just these areas gray while my whole head is still RED! 😅 Thanks so much!

I have heard that when you are deficient in minerals but especially copper that your hair turns gray. I have only a few gray hairs and I am almost 60. I take molasses in milk or coffee for the minerals. There are many videos on this but of course do your own research to see what is right for you.

@RainCountryHomestead5 жыл бұрын
I have heard that said about grey hair (deficiencies) but I don't totally buy it because graying hair is a natural course of life and genetics and life events play a big role in how young we grey. Even the Bible mentions the "Hoary head" and how it is a crown of glory (Proverbs 16:31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.) As far as a natural cover up, have you looked into henna? On the other hand, my father was Scottish and he had red hair but as he grayed, I adored the lovely shades of precious metals all across his head: Copper, Gold, Silver. :)
@angiecollier85925 жыл бұрын
