Wonderful! The best video I have seen yet for salves. Thank you for your time and your concern for other people.

Oooh, gutted I missed this video while St. John's Wort was in season. Maybe next year! The colour is really lovely. We've come to learn that natural dyes really don't behave the way we expect.... For people looking for St. John's Wort for mood-lifting properties: remember that they can affect medicines you take! Make sure you do your research before consumption!

I am going to try that! I have all the ingredients already...just waiting for the plants to get their blooms out! Many thanks for a very clear tutorial.

I’m also checking the St John’s wort every day for flowers :) have fun making your salve! If you haven’t used red oil before, remember to test it on a small patch of skin for allergic reaction. Some people get sensitive to sun light 🌱💕

Thanks 😊 I will be growing St. Johns wort this year and I'm looking for ideas on uses. I think I will be using it for skin care

Wonderful! Please remember that some people find that St. John's wort salve makes their skin more sensitive to sunlight. It's not something I've ever experienced, but keep in mind not to use the salve on sunny days :)

Perfect tutorial! Can we use this on our face and replace our daily moisturiser with it? 🍃
@michaelaschmid4 жыл бұрын
That depends. It’s a very heavy cream so might not be ideal for everyone. That said I use it as a night cream in winter and I love it. Also, St. John’s wort makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight, depending on the climate where you live that’s something to keep in mind.

Love this video. I've heard that it's better to put cheesecloth on top of the jar to allow moisture to escape.

That's a great idea! I've never had issues with moisture so far, but that is a fantastic tip.

Amazing video! In Russia we call this plant as «zveroboi» which means «a beast killer» or «animal killer» and use it in herb medicine or hang a small bouquet near the door to scare evil spirits. But I know that this plant or it components can cause a photosensibilisation (I don’t know other proper words for this) did you see some irritations after usage of this cosmetics or it was fine for your skin? Sorry for my poor English, I’m still learning it:)
@michaelaschmid4 жыл бұрын
Big Sister I did not notice any irritation, but I get sunburned easily so I stay in the shade most of the time. If you are concerned about skin irritations you could try applying it on a small patch of skin and see how you react. I’m going to set a bouquet aside this year to hang by my door. A little help with evil spirits is always appreciated! Thanks for sharing!
