POOL TIPS! Speed is one of the tools that took me forever to factor in, I was stubborn and wanted to hear the cue ball crack the object ball, but once I introduced a lighter touch, it improved my shots a ton. Also, there is a game we play called Scotch Doubles. In regular doubles one team member shoots until they miss. In Scotch Doubles, you and your partner alternate shots until one of you misses. It helps you take each shot more cautiously and ALSO leave a shot for your partner. Finally, take the time to study your object ball. If you're trying to put 3 in the side, line up as if you are going to just hit the three ball in the pocket with your cue stick, then look for any knick or scrape on the ball that you can use as a point of reference. Then aim at the mark rather than the ball. Aim small, miss small.

here in the philippines, when old people play pool, you see that "finesse" with their touch.. its the slightest touch or push at the right direction that makes so much improvement.

Three tips for billiard (since you help us with photography) 1. The cue ball doesn't move... so stop looking at it, and look at where you want it to hit. 2. Follow through when hitting the cue ball (exceptions apply) 3. Hitting hard is like adding too much edits on an image, medium to low speed hits give more control (exceptions apply)

2 minute Pool/Billiard/Snooker Tip: Choose the ball you want to pot and line up the cue as if you would pot it directly using the cue. The point that the cue would have to strike the ball to pot it, is the point that the white ball has to strike. Now line up the cue behind the white ball and aim at the point on the target ball and ignore the pocket, just concentrate on hitting the point on the target ball with the white ball and enjoy your success.

Apart from angles and spin, there are two main fundamental things about pool every player should practice. 1) Generally speaking, lock the elbow in place as the pivot point and 2) do not make contact with the cue ball at an angle (down angles scoop the cue ball and up angles where you cannot control the topspin). Always aim to bring the cue stick horizontal to where you make contact with the cue ball. There endeth my pool lesson for the day.

Great 2 minute Tuesday (sub 1 minute!), love your stuff man If you're really interested in upping your pool game, in all seriousness some fundamentals I can recommend (based on the limited shots I saw) are: 1) Don't lift the cue at the end of your shot, follow through and stay down (the end of your cue stroke should be well past where the cue ball was) 2) Don't drop the elbow, this accentuates lifting the cue as well as miscues 3) It's all about consistency in that stroke ;) so practice it 4) Try to get the cue lower and more parallel with the table; this allows a longer stroke through and more control of the ball 5) Aiming: in a super simple nutshell, it's vectors: draw the line along points of impact to figure out where the cue ball needs to be in relation to the object ball, then aim the cue ball to that spot. Tip: you can use a ghost ball to visualize the spot
@zohair-lab4 жыл бұрын
You did it😂The thumbnail that you were taking about in yesterday’s video
@AlbertoOrsini4 жыл бұрын
Ok so to be better at it: 1) Get lower to see the trajectory of the cue ball 2) Think about the spherical construct of both the cue ball and the ball you're aiming at 3) Do a quick physics analysis: If I hit this ball on this side, what will the trajectory look like? If it impacts that other ball, what is the difference of impacting it on the far left vs just off-center? 4) Keep practicing, but noticing obsessively the physics and understanding the physical behavior of the ball. Then you'll get better at anticipating where you have to hit it and at what angle to get the desired shot - if you don't pre-meditate, you're just shooting for kicks. 5) Bonus practice: Play safe! Rather than being aggressive about making every shot, be thoughtful about leaving the cue ball in uncomfortable spots for your opponent. Think about the angles, speed, and order in which you want to play your game. If you visualize the ball, your angles, and trajectory, I guarantee you'll become better in no time. Just my long-winded 2 cents :D

I used to go downtown and play pool around 3-4 times a week while I was in highschool and became pretty good at it. Used to play on crappy tables and with worn out cue sticks, but really enjoyed it. Just think of the cue stick as an extension of your arm, in the beginning hit the cue ball right in the center, visualise where you would need to hit the other ball in order for it to go into the pocket, fail and repeat 😁 After this you can learn all the cool tricks you can do. Would love to have a pool table at my place cause it's been years since I last played.

quick tips for billiards, leading foot point toe in direction want cue ball to go, keep your elbow and forearm at 90 degree angle bending only elbow for the stroke. and setting up your angle on tatget ball and cue ball. line up shot on target ball getting straight line of sight to target pocket then from cue ball get straght line of site on that point on the target ball, last adjust for the curve of the 2 balls contact point slightly changing to the left or the right depending on the angle of the cut. hope this helps or makes sense love your vids been brushing back up on photography recently and your channel has been huge to that end. thanks.

You're stroking the cue too hard (and not straight), Just "imagine" where the cue ball should be to be "in-line" with the pocket that you are try to aim for and that's where you should aim. Finally, don't try to hit the cue ball so hard...just hard enough to reach the pocket. Remember "Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast!"

One possible idea about not getting better at pool is that your are playing and not practicing. I don't know a lot of things about pool but I suggest to set the table a certain way with only 2 or 3 balls and then trying to find the right angles to score. Repeat the process while putting the ball at exactly the same position each time until you get consistent. Then change position to change the angles or maybe stick handling. You need to imprint the memory of good shot into your arms, it's muscle memory. From my experience as musician it does not come from random jamming but consistent specific exercice. Let me know if it helped.

It's not simply about quantity of practice but quality of practice. knowledge is key to understand the game of pool :)

POOL TIP: When a ball is against the wall, hit the cue ball softly, aim as if you are making a wedge between the pool ball and the wall. The wedge is pointing toward the corner pocket you want the ball to fall in. You're not aiming at the ball, as much as you are aiming to the spot there the ball touches the wall. Do it close to the pocket, and gradually move to longer and longer shots as you get better.

I had done this a few times sometime back. I masked out the main object in the photo, then selected the background and created the light spot which left the object unaffected. Then again selecting the object, added a second light spot, but this time reducing the intensity which made it look like the light was coming from behind the object and only creating a little reflection over the sides of it. Edit : Adding different coloured light spots also creates an interesting look. :)

foundation of your stance and also your stroke arm is like the most imporant, then its your bridge. lastly, after you stroke the ball, STAY DOWN, so you can watch the ball roll away. if you stand up right away then it will mess up your shot. i miss playing pool, been over a year since i've played. miss the good old days when me and my friends are trying to recreated efren's jaw dropping miracles.

Learn how to control the cue ball 1st. Low draws, dead stops, high follows, high right and left english, bottom left and right english, etc. Once you control the cue ball, you can start playing 3 or more shots ahead in you mind, because you not only shoot the shot you have, but you also control where the cue ball goes next- right behind you NEXT shot. You shoot n set up next shot, shoot and set up, etc.That's how you learn how to run the table. .
