Been wanting to do a hot rod/street rod style build for a while, so I'm very excited to share this one with all of you. I hope to demonstrate how the variety of STL files we offer can be used, modified, and adapted for many projects. Of course much more to come. 👍

80’s billet. 😊 Clean, mother of pearl white, tasteful pinstripes.

Years ago I was tinkering with making a motor driven belt system for these scale engines in my slot projects- I could see this working for rc as well.

If you want to know how I would build it you need a little context. Around 1955 my grandfather was in highschool. The rule in the household was that the children were not allowed to own cars. There were a lot of kids, and that wasn't affordable. A highschooler was driving what I believe was his grandparent's car and wrecked it. It was a 39 chevy deluxe and my grandfather's parent's said he could buy it and fix it up. My great-grandfather didn't think he could fix it before the end of highschool. The rules were simple, he was told to not ask for help at all unless he was REALLY stuck. In an age before the internet my grandfather swapped the body off of the car and fixed it up with a hammer, chisel, hacksaw, and one singular lightbulb. I'm sure there were other tools too, wrenches and stuff, but no power tools. The shop was in the end of an old mink shed. I bet half of you don't even know what a mink is... The shed was cold and dark, remember no power and one light bulb! He drove it for the last two weeks of highschool, and had to sell it in college. He always wanted to get that car back but never found it. If I had that kit and some extra money I would get a resin body and attempt to recreate my grandfather's first car.

What a cool build, can't wait for the finished model. Just a note, this car and the van where realised as low rider versions as well.

What a cool model! You've got a new subscription. If I were to build this model, I think I'd go with the sedan delivery with the full hood.

Still way more detailed than many 10th scale cars out there. Love the build. One thing i have always dreamed of is a 24th scale motor with the motor mounted inside the motor with rotating pulleys and belts. I tried on an 18th scale before and it was promising but there was a tonne of fab and this was before 3d printers became mainstream.

Sounds cool. I do like the realism and variety offered by 1/24-1/25 scale models.

If I was the one building this hotrod I'd get them wheels gloss black with dark red body paint and drop the suspension just a little.

Thank you. Careful with the metal bodies as the weight tends to hinder the performance and break parts.

I wonder if there is a different option for electric motors that might fit within a model kits engine, something smaller with similar specs- that could run the belt pulley assembly on a supercharger

You should make the steering servo look like a cooling radiator.

The servo is going in place of the radiator, I thought the motor wasn't going into the engine because you were going to hide the servo in there.

Maybe it was asked before, but what RPM do you recommend to the N20 motors for cars and for slower vehicles like trucks or offroad eg a scale model Jeep?
@MakeItRC
@MakeItRC Жыл бұрын
Anything under 2000 RPM should be pretty good for a slower speed vehicle, and will provide adequate torque for a model car based build.
