Nice design! I would have not used the wood piece with the knot in it, but that’s a personal choice.

Cool project! I just found your channel via Instructables. Since you've been using this a short while now, is there anything that you would recommend doing differently? Thanks for sharing!

Hey thanks so very much! This project has held up so well and I'm still so happy with it. The only think I think I might do different in the future is to not plug the screw holes on the underside of the concrete. That way I could change out the top in the future if needed. But honestly, the top is holding up great and I don't see needing to replace it. Thanks so much for watching!

love it....great idea...I may make a branch from this idea , but the sealer is sooo toxic , wish there were ways to do these things w less toxic chemicals...there have to be alternatives ,, more green products. like I would use nails instead of glue no poly urethane ugh...but thx. I'm gonna do its w/ out the chemicals thx
@MakerGray5 жыл бұрын
I love the idea of more green products. Let me know what you go with. Thanks for watching!

do you have a list of supplies and measurements? thanks. I have two black labs and a foster boxer/ massif mix.
@MakerGray5 жыл бұрын
Your doggies need this! I don't think the measurements are on my website, but I do know that the supplies are. If you go to makergray.com you'll see them there.

Nice - I would imagine (without seeing your video first mind) that doing stuff with concrete would be hard. Not so! Nice one. Got a sub from me! :-) quick question - would you think about polishing the concrete too? Cheers!
@MakerGray6 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Rich! The concrete came out very smooth, but I imagine polishing wouldn't hurt at all if that is the look you'd like. I made a different concrete project (the side table) and because it was formed in a plastic bucket, it came out remarkably smooth. Looking forward to more concrete projects. Cheers!

So how did you stop the dog bowls from sliding about on the top?
@MakerGray4 жыл бұрын
I use dog bowls that have a non skid bottom and they stay on just fine

Is there a more efficient way or technique to remove bubbles while or after boring the concrete?
@MakerGray6 жыл бұрын
The mallet has worked well for me but I've seen people use sanders (with no sandpaper attached) to vibrate the sides and pop the bubbles with success.

How often does the top need to be resealed?
@MakerGray5 жыл бұрын
I've never resealed mine and have been under the impression that I won't have to. But I guess it just depends on what wear your top sees.
@PENGUlN1246 жыл бұрын
But there are no holes for the bowls? Will you just sit them on top?
@MakerGray6 жыл бұрын
PENGUlN124 Yep. Right there on the top.

I would love to make this too but my dog takes 80 % of the water 10 feet around the bowl after drinking :P
