Until we (society) start recognizing that children need to be treated for the traumas they have suffered and REMOVE THEM from these monsters that abuse them, history is going to keep repeating itself! These people are a product of their environments. Maybe is someone has shown them some COMPASSION WHEN IT MATTERED, they wouldn’t have committed these atrocities.*

If we don’t bother to understand the background of offenders, we can’t know how to prevent tragedies in the future. Believing that you’re siding with the criminal by explaining trauma in their background is the same kind of thinking that has contributed to the United States having the highest incarceration rate in the world.
@GabrielaUmanzor3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t found anyone who had the proper terms, or had the sanity to explain the reality which is that the United States fails it’s people. Like it makes you think how flawed the foster care system is, how social workers are paid poorly and burnt out, how the justice system does not care about people. Like it’s not siding with the criminal it’s showing you how we can avoid this. How we can as community members and understand more. Far too many times people have this “mind my own business” mentality and of course this helps but if you see someone being abused, someone who is in need of help… why be a bystander?!?!?
@GabrielaUmanzor3 жыл бұрын

Bailey has never professed to being some specialist in criminology she just researches the killers upbringing, yes it can be attributed to how the person turns out some turn into killers some turn their life around. Some killers have a loving wonderful childhood and still become killers .....there is often a person’s background that contributes to the way they behave as adults but not always. I don’t think it’s up to Bailey to decide which childhood upbringings have cased the resulting adulthood behaviour.

@@Kattatonik7_yt I completely agree I don’t like it being said a lot either. But also when Bailey says it she warns it makes it less harsh than how it sounds. And she expresses feeling and emotion in how wrong it is. I tend to cringe a bit and go off on a whole conversation when something like this is still said but I can at least get over the video. Not the same with movies though and even some songs.

my friend loves making everything about him. i once tried opening up to him about my mental health and how i was struggling with the loss of a close friend (like a week or so after he died) and immediately, he brought up every single occasion where he’s lost a loved one, going into great detail of how they died and basically it just made me feel sick to the stomach with guilt, like how dare i be so upset and mentally unwell when he had gone through everything that he had, and i only recently realised that he had no right to make me feel that way, or to make my friends death about him

Vraskaa Cosplay like is said just before, there’s a difference between telling a story so someone knows you can relate, and overshadowing their bad experience with your own. this wasn’t a “i’m so sorry, i’ve lost someone too so i understand what you’re going through, i’m here for you” it was a “i get that you just lost someone really recently but did you remember that i’ve lost a lot of people too and that my losses are greater and more important than yours?” he wasn’t trying to sympathise or empathise. he was trying to get the focus back on him.

To the people who think you’re trying to “make a victim out of the bad guy,” all I have to say is, at one point- they were a victim. Just bc they went on the victimize other later on in life doesn’t negate the fact that at one point, they themselves were also victims. Just saying 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ doesn’t mean that it’s okay what they did or that we sympathize for them just bc we aren’t ignorant to the fact that they were victims. I love you bailey, okay, bye 😂🥰❤️

I agree! Its important to see how they were raised, what tactics the parent(s) used, all of that. Shane Madej said it once, "the greatest precautions of our time are written in blood." Sad but true. These cases are a chance to reflect and evolve so this doesnt happen, at least as much. I hope people realize why bailey includes backstories more as time goes on. Its really important, at least i think!(:

How many of these horrible crimes could have been prevented if only those ppl have had normal childhoods and loving parents!! It's very sad how the way someone is upbringing can affect them and others round 😩
@ali.f264 жыл бұрын
I agree plus someone’s trauma/abuse can lead to some of these things so I think it’s important to tell. Of course a lot of people go through these same things or worse and don’t end up being the abuser/criminal themselves, but it’s important to call out how these types of things can affect people later on in life. Clearly our country needs to figure out a better way to support these people after abuse or trauma to prevent them from continuing the cycle of abuse.
