Just as we use our five senses to absorb our world around us, many factors can distract those senses at any given time. It's impossible to just use one learning style to learn. One day I took the learning quiz and my results were 4-Visual, 4-Kinaesthetic, 2-Audio in one type of setting. I took the quiz again on another day and my results were 6-Visual, 1-Kinaesthetic, 3-Audio in another type of setting. I found this interesting!

I got 3 for A, 4 for B, and 3 for C. I guess I kinda already knew I was a "give me everything" type of learner, but it's funny how it ended up. That said, I need kinaesthetic paired with the others in order for them to work. I handwrite all my notes because I remember them best that way. Making a diagram or mindmap only helps me if I draw it by hand. When I'm listening to a lecture, it only really sticks and goes into my memory if I'm also simultaneously writing my notes. I have ADHD, so the constant hand movements help tremendously with keeping myself focused, and I don't know if I'm kinaesthetic because it's the only way I make sure I'm focused, or if it's just in general the way my brain is most optimised to take in information. Maybe a bit of both

I can learn in all four of learning styles, but I prefer audio and tactile. When I learn in tactile or audio style I learned twice faster than visual or kinesthetic style and when I learning both in tactile&audio styles I learned not twice(50%), but 60% or sometimes even 65% more effective, than in visual or kinesthetic learning styles today. I can learn visual and kinestethic learning styles, if I must too, but I am more weak in them, than in the other hand tactile and audio learning styles are my strong sides. I am not kidding, because when I was young in kindergarden and kindergarden times when I learn or doing something I preferred tactile and audio learning style some often than visual and kinesthetic when I can make my own decision on how I learn in kindergarden and in whole day and in that time I know not much about brain and learnig styles, because I was too young to know about this. I was going to kindergarden at that time.

It's sad to see that the neuromyth of learning styles is still being pushed in spite of the numerous academic studies that show that there is no scientific basis for it. Indeed some studies suggest that trying to cater for students' supposed styles can actually be detrimental. Whilst the ideas might sound appealing, what we do with our students should be based on rational investigation, not unsubstantiated hunches. If you want to read more about this please see: www.theguardian.com/education/2017/mar/12/no-evidence-to-back-idea-of-learning-styles
