In this project I build 5 artificial boxwood hedges for a party rental company.
These are constructed with 1/2 OSB plywood and pine 1x3s. They are meant to be mobile and configurable to act as a barrier or backdrop.
I show a few little tricks that help accomplish a repetitive project like this one, check it out!
Here is a link to the boxwood I use on these:

If you would like some of these hedges for your home or business send me an email! I do make these to order and can ship them anywhere in the USA.

Nice man! These are awesome. Consider Luan instead of OSB it would make them much lighter up top! Also a hair dryer or heat gun will relax the greenery and let you stretch it and fill the gaps as well as staggering the panels will help hide the seams. Ive made a lot of theatre scenery like these. Great job they are beautiful..

@@GarinKilpatrick Why are people so offended when it comes to pricing? You as a homeowner requests 3 estimates before hiring a contractor for a job on your house. Municipalities have bidding periods where contractors submit their work bids, which become public records. But anyway a prefab section is here for $549.99/each www.fencescreen.com/NatraHedge/Faux-Boxwood-Wall.aspx/prod-2116/6-ft-boxwood-hedge-with-wood-planter-box?_vsrefdom=wordstream&keyword_session_id=vt~adwords|kt~|mt~|ta~217961578769&gclid=Cj0KCQjw28T8BRDbARIsAEOMBcz9iwD0ZSA8eadIu_hAw5Z1gdWLVHaeAKjhHb2EgtGcMudUp4F4J9gaAlLIEALw_wcB

10:42 - What was your final Height? I am having the same issue regarding transportation... I figured the best thing to do is add wheels to side and make it roll horizontally vs virtually. Horizontal wheels would mean we need to make holes on each side to hide the wheels when standing it next to one another... but that will help to ensure a minor locking.

I would love to have something JUST LIKE THIS as a staple in my backyard, the same height as the boxes you made before the height adjustment! The only issue would be (well, there's lots of issues seeing as though I don't have YOU making them for me 😞) I'd love to have something stationary to use for privacy! I have GREAT NEIGHBORS whom I adore. I just would like some privacy in my backyard in the Summer! You see, they have an above ground pool with a deck and it happens to be right up against my fence! Yup! Everyone who enjoys the pool is in direct eyeshot of my whole entire backyard! I've been trying to come up with a solution. I've even thought about growing some sort of narrow in width growing trees (I have a narrow backyard so space is an issue). The only thing is, I'd like something with immediate privacy results and trees take time to mature. Anywhodal, I'd need them to be weatherproof! (I'm in the Midwest) I have a privacy fence but it's just too short due to the pool being above ground and all. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed dreaming of you making those great looking artifical hedge boxes for my backyard! LOL No really, GREAT VIDEO!
@pansepot1490
@pansepot1490 6 жыл бұрын
Femineity, why don't you build a simple structure made of wooden posts and metal wires and grow a climber on it? You can go as high as you need for your privacy and it takes almost no space on the ground. Ask your local garden centre or do a Google search to find the best plant for your climate. Some climbers grow very fast and can cover a large fence in a couple of seasons. They will need a little of maintenance once established (pruning and sweeping dead leaves) but they will grow exposed to the weather while fake hedges deteriorate very quickly.
@femineity
@femineity 6 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a good idea, I wish I had some sort of visual to go on. Are you saying something like an Arbor/Trellis type of structure (which I've been looking into as well, but all the ones I've seen cost so much to have built! It would be the perfect solution, really!) But what you're describing actually sounds even simpler to construct! Is there a website where I can see what you're speaking of *Pat Pezzi? (Thanks for the suggestion by the way! Where are my manners! ...😊)

Use ECOS paints, super safe (non toxic). Wear a good respirator or mask when using chemicals. Don’t use chemicals without proper ventilation. I was chemically injured over night from breathing toxic fumes and became bedridden for 8 years with MCS. Not trying to be negative, but know which materials are safe and which ones may be carcinogenic or toxic. Other than that. Good on ya.
