Ive been following since the table saw workbench. I think you are first to post one for the sawstop. Very exciting watching these builds for small shops as I am just wrapping up my 12x16. Nice work!

To reduce the size and weight of the sled consider large 45 degree cutoff cuts from the back corners.

Would you lose any function by cutting 50% of the back fence off and 45 degree cuts off of the sled base to further reduce size, weight and awareness?

I don’t imagine you would lose any function. Yes, it would cut down on weight, but my only fear would be the rigidity. Plus, I’ve trimmed some pretty hefty workpieces on one side of the sled, and I like the support the full size bed gives. If you’re working with mostly smaller pieces, I bet it would work well. Let me know if you give it a shot!
