I worked on many rigs just like this ..lived in meade kansas worked for a old man Lenard Wrist good safe person to work for old school. He would bring 2 fifths of Old Charter every day 7 days a week back then and we would drive of location he wouldnspin off the lid with one hand and we would drink the whole fifth he would drink half of it we would help 4 of us i was young then 21! Then we drive home and start on the other fifth..back in 1975..... Never came close to having any problems.we smoked alot of pot back then but not Lenard he liked his wiskey ..alot of rig hands did this a lot wish i could go back and do it all over again...hard work hard playing it was great ..i know about the Lord know things are diff.now but had a greet time me and my brother. Cookie man..

The crew added another 30' length of drill pipe to the drill string so the well could continue to get deeper. To accomplish that they first must pull up the kelly(octagonal rod and the kelly busing) and then connect the new piece of drill rod that was prepared and waiting in the mousehole. Then it was run back in the hole and the drilling continues for another 45 minutes and they do it again. At the very end, the crew used a pry rod to connect the kelly bushing to the drill table because it is the drive table that rotates the entire drill string.
