I build a lot of furniture that have the same look as some shaker furniture. I wanted to do an updated version of the end table, and this is my design. I used this project to check my "bidding" on how much time it would take me to build it and the price of it. I like to do this every once in a while to make sure I am working as effecent as possible on a project.

Thanks for including the stopwatch. I often think that it takes me too long to do anything in the shop so seeing your process was helpful. I wish more u tubers did this

Chelsea Metayer I time stuff all the time to check I am bidding jobs right, this time I knew I could build it and finish it in under 8 hours so include it in the video.

Are these two sided tapered legs? If it is, are thy attached with the side stiles straight 90 degree? Nice taper looks like the legs are in an angle.

How did you attach the top?

That would have taken me 25 hours and it probably still wouldn't have come out as good. Awesome vid!

A great video, very enjoyable. I really like the stopwatch element as I've often wandered how long it takes someone as proficient as you to complete these projects. A beautiful table, I really like the simple clean lines and it would fit into many different styles of room.

At first glance this seemed like a straight forward project. But as I look closer I can see the skewed tapered legs, the undercut table top, etc. Very classy. Thanks for sharing this. One question, what was the purpose of the timer? To show how long the process takes?

David thank you I appreciate it and I wrote about the timer in the description

Great looking end table! I like the undercut top feature. It really improves the balance of the piece. Any advantage to free-handing the leg taper on the band saw versus a tapering jig on the table saw?

Scott Light that is a tapered radius leg so it would be impossible to do on the table saw. And yes you can use a hand plan on a radius you just have to hold it out to the side like I did in video

Great project and the video! Do you use a jointer and a planer for dimensioning the lumber or hand planes?
