You’re delusional if you think they deserve new cabinets for the cuts to the sinks. The granite installer are right, what they removed wasn’t going to interfere with the structural stability’s of the rest of the kitchen. And perhaps replacement of the sink cabinets but not the rest.

The installers had to pay for damages. In order to get the amount of new cabinets, the plaintiffs needed to prove that the cabinets could no longer be used. They can get new cabinets if they want, but that doesn't mean the installers have to pay for it.

Most of those pieces of wood are the pieces from the 2 drawers that come standard in a sink cabinet. Only the face plates from them are used, as the sink sits below and behind where the drawers normally would be. I love how neither party knows that. This is why you hire a professional designer or contractor to oversee the entire job. If you cheap out and piecemeal the job and try yo coordinate yourself, then you can up like this, with drop-ins, cooktop stove, sink, etc that are too wide or deep to fit the cabinets you bought. The cheap becomes expensive. I bought my cabinets, countertops aall from the same company and had them install everything. No problems. Then they don’t let you buy items that won’t fit together.

When you begin your case by lying to the judge, then you’re off on the wrong foot. The judge is now skeptical of everything you say moving forwards.
@The_Real_Mier
@The_Real_Mier 2 жыл бұрын
You can’t be for real if you think the Judge could possibly mean the ‘Striking Distance’ remark seriously! It was already clear that the hubby was not happy with the actions of the wife within this process and that he had been quite verbal about that towards her. THAT what that comment was about. Secondly: When the Judge wants to hear a (partial) testimony from the wife, the husband should not interfere and lead the wife into saying what she is supposed to say according to him. That’s not rocket science either. When you add to that the fact that the husband started off his own testimony with a lie (that was immediately caught by the Judge!), then you want him even MORE to keep his mouth shut when the wife is supposed to give HER version of events. Don’t try to find things Judge Milian didn’t do in an attempt to discredit her and even (indirectly) aim to accuse her of wrongdoing in her Courtroom! That will make you look like a fool! ….As it did!

@@elvickRULES no it’s not. If someone is a control freak then you cannot MAKE them do anything that they don’t want done the way they want it done. It’s not up to the wife to say you deal with the contractor. Control freaks have a “if you want something done right you have to do it yourself” mentality. And if he was such a control freak either as implied by judge Milan or by the wife as a defense then he would have been there to watch their every move. Not leave his wife to watch them but not watch them because she is in the basement watching the children. All I’m saying is I don’t think he is a control freak. The opening question about the friend who recommended defendant pretty much sunk plaintiff case . His nonchalant attitude set the course and I think he was being just as dishonest as defendant . Cabinets were probably cheap standard size that had to be modified when installed. Defendant did f up and should have just stuck to installing granite top and leave. You want good cabinets then you hire a cabinets maker and finisher, when you order from Home Depot you are going to get mass produced items with shat materials. A real cabinet shop comes in and corrects Irregularities in walls, floors so when it’s installed there are minimum issues with fit. You do it on the cheap that’s what you get. People should have called a real cabinet shop for an estimate to repair what the have there and it would have helped their case. Buyer beware

If a contractor screws up a job and refuses to fix it, Don’t sue them in court. Go after his Bond and Insurance. Once a contractor has a ding on their Bond and Insurance then the Bonding company will refuse to allow them to renew their Bond. Then other Bonding companies will also deny to Bond them, thus forcing the Contractor out of business. His insurance company will raise their rates so high (approximately 400% higher), so the contractor cannot afford the rate increase. The person who filed the claim against their Bond and insurance WILL be compensated for their losses. Therefore the Customer will be paid off and the Contractor will be forced to go out of business.

They dont have to speak much. Its what the law says and thats why the judge has to ask questions. The peoples opinions dont matter.

The counter top installers should have NEVER cut any cabinets without a written document describing which and what cabinets they needed to cut. If i had brand new cabinets and they got damaged bc of counter top installers yes i would expect them to replace them. I didnt buy them damaged and i dont want repaired bs if i didnt do it.

Marry a contractor. Haha! I did and he is a cabinet maker. That was atrocious. It needed to be repaired. If the plaintiff would have had any proof from anyone he would have got the whole amount.

How do you get w good contractor? Have one for a father 😂 I genuinely don't trust anyone else than him to do anything as I saw my firends and acquaintances getting shitty jobs done. Even by people who came recommended. Kinda sucks that I moved out of the country so it is a bit problematic now 😅
