Liked the design and build. Less certain about the grooves in the seat. Surely it makes the bench uncomfortable to sit on, gathers water which means the bench takes longer to dry out after rain, and hastens dirt and rot.
@fun_ghoul5 жыл бұрын
It won't gather water. Consider the shape and construction.
@brntuk5 жыл бұрын
@@fun_ghoul I'm assuming that you think that the channels are grooved to flow water away but in practise because of surface tension and capillary action water will be retained in the grooves to some extent.
@fun_ghoul5 жыл бұрын
@@brntuk That's true of any bench, and actually more true of the unfinished lumber used for "regular" park benches than of glulam whose every surface is sealed/filled with adhesive.
@fun_ghoul5 жыл бұрын
@@brntuk Also, that's not what capillary action is. Lmao
@brntuk5 жыл бұрын
Well, not really. Most outside benches are designed to allow water to flow away. A groove (or several) is asking for trouble.@@fun_ghoul

This may be a dumb question, but why is the base coat a lighter color if the final is black? Just curious.

Primer is just whatever colour, and it's usually relatively light because a darker colour would be harder to cover with a lighter coloured paint. OTOH, the black paint isn't any less black being sprayed over light primer.
