Thank you so much! I love the table on instagram! Also I remember I also put one coin in the missing knot hole and covered it with putty probably 15 years ago.. I thought that maybe in a few hundred or more years when somebody will burn it in a stove or furnace and sees the coin in the ashes will be wondering how it got there :)

Liked the design and build. Less certain about the grooves in the seat. Surely it makes the bench uncomfortable to sit on, gathers water which means the bench takes longer to dry out after rain, and hastens dirt and rot.
@fun_ghoul
@fun_ghoul 5 жыл бұрын
It won't gather water. Consider the shape and construction.
@brntuk
@brntuk 5 жыл бұрын
@@fun_ghoul I'm assuming that you think that the channels are grooved to flow water away but in practise because of surface tension and capillary action water will be retained in the grooves to some extent.
@fun_ghoul
@fun_ghoul 5 жыл бұрын
@@brntuk That's true of any bench, and actually more true of the unfinished lumber used for "regular" park benches than of glulam whose every surface is sealed/filled with adhesive.

@@brntuk Also, that's not what capillary action is. Lmao

Primer is just whatever colour, and it's usually relatively light because a darker colour would be harder to cover with a lighter coloured paint. OTOH, the black paint isn't any less black being sprayed over light primer.

I'm glad you like the design! :D The grooves are a bit shallower in the middle and deeper at the ends so the water drains to the sides. Also if it ends up outside, just a few holes in the grooves would solve all the draining problems. I made a similar benches a few years ago and the stand quite good against the elements.
