reminds me of multiple mythbuster episodes, there's a built-in pressure-release valve in the gas bottle (so you can't overdo the pressure), and the "A-Team" episode used an impact wrench as well.

Rotary steam engines that led to modern vane pumps and pneumatic motors were invented a LONG time ago, but they were never successful because they were so inefficient. The vanes in that impact won't last long on hot wet steam with no oil.

idea itself is from Mythbusters, who used this to replicate CivilWar-era Steam powered machine gun. But this simplissity is outstandig. Somebody suggested that for generator use it should be a air drill better than impact wrench - stabiler running on load. Now i will buy cheap air driven impact wrench. I would add oiler too. And maybe condenser and oil separator (on wrench output).

maybe a hose line dryer for better life of impact wrench and/or copper coils through water to cool the steam also...needs to be dry and (not hot)

They provide a very high rotational torque that regular drills are simply not capable of and deliver high torque output with minimal exertion by the user.

Wow, that is so potentially dangerous. Heated pressurized water is much more dangerous than high pressure steam because it will flash into steam at high velocity in an event we can describe as explosive. The boiler is exposed to direct flame, which we generally try to avoid so as to not stress the shell containing all that pressurized water. There is no makeup feed water pump, controls, or even a level gage. Water vaporizing into steam carries heat away from the boiler shell, and so it gets very dangerous to run the water level low since the shell can be heated to failure. Fortunately, at least the steam is in contact with the water and so no superheating will occur -- this limits potential efficiency but reduces the likelihood that the hose or plastic parts in the drill will fail catastrophically.

A power plant is constructed of steel tubes in direct contact with the fire. You cannot see a high pressure steam leak. If in doubt walk behind a broom moving around the suspected leak area. This boiler without a pressure relief valve is a bomb waiting to go off.

That impact gun would be so incredibly inefficient with that same the only reason why I hate the reason why the video is sped up man and cuz he's really not getting a lot of run time out of that it looks cool man but you're going to get 30 second bursts out of that if that then you're going to wait for steam pressure to build back up impact guns use a ton a ton of air to move I mean that's why the air compressors matter so large now steam does have a expansion ratio of like 400 to 1 versus water in the same so you are getting quite a bit but you're not going to run that thing you're not going to set it up and just oh I'm good and then just run it and have power for hours and hours that that's an incredibly neat idea it's executed very poorly

Maybe buy an Internal Combustion Engine designed to run on propane and feed it methane. It should run. Then you can connect a generator to the engine and get electricity.
