I love rocks, every state I go to I try to bring a rock home from there. I didn’t get one from Missouri when I was there several years ago, I guess I was preoccupied by my nephews wedding. I have a small rock garden that I put them in. I know weird! But rocks can be sooooo beautiful! ☃️❄️💚🙃

Well you're in for a treat because in my next video I got a bunch of beautiful new rocks to use in my tanks and planters! I love collecting rocks when I travel also. I have stones from all over the country spread around the garden.

Wow I immediately thought that’s like emptying Lake Michigan with a teaspoon😵💫☃️❄️💚🙃

It would've taken forever to fill that thing with the tiny shovel! I feel like I never get to use it though, so I guess I would have gotten my fill. 😆

I found and added into my rare tropical plant collection a couple things you might like. Heliconia pittospormum 'adrian', heliconia pittospormum 'flamingo' both brand new varieties, musa coccinea aka the scarlet banana and hibiscus mutabilis flore pleno, the Confederate rose..... Flore pleno is a rather rare variety that is so double and packed with petals it looks like a color changlng 6in wide peony, they open white and change to pink and then magenta

Wow! Those are some awesome plants! I love love LOVE the 'flamingo' heliconia!

Hey Jeff Loved the terrium video I have the one looks like has little white dots. Mine is 3 years old it's about 6 in tall I separated off the little pups grow in fast. But the tall one keeps calling over I have steak skewers propping it up. Looks like I could cut it in half there is a little separation in the middle. We are supposed to get 2-4 in of snow and maybe some ice.
@TropicalPlantParty2 жыл бұрын
Sounds adorable! We got a couple of inches of ice/sleet here. Very slippery outside!

perhaps a bonsai soil would have worked in there (lava rock, pumice, clay and bark) to keep things more dry. I feel like this is a project we talked about three years ago, glad to see it finally come to fruition. Two more weeks and the Hibiscus I ordered should be shipping. Which means I need to go out and rip out all of those Ixora. Bad timing, since the kitchen remodel is at the same time. Maybe I'll wait on pulling out the Ixora...
@stackie10able2 жыл бұрын
I had to Google that one Ixora. They looked very pretty though. Do they spread easily? Or are they messy?

I thought it was you that mentioned doing a succulent terrarium a few years ago. Well, here it is! 😆 2 years later 😏 Bonsai soil would have worked wonderfully, I didn't didn't any of that either. This will be fine, it's all about how they get watered. Exciting about the hibiscus, ripping out the shrubs and especially a kitchen remodel! Lots of fun things going on

Absolutely! This one has been going for a few weeks so it hasn't done much yet. When it puts on some growth, I'll be sure to update 😊

Hi Jeff! I love that terrarium with feet, so cute! It looks like a giant tillandsia holder. It turned out really cute! Sometimes less is more, and you did a great job! I like the rocks you chose and I did see the river bed. Would perlite work in place of the pumice? Also, is that a special sand you used? I was trying to see the brand, but couldn't see it. I just received a terrarium from Amazon and need to figure out which plant/s I should put in it. Will you be doing another terrarium update soon? I love the look of terrariums, but have never had one before. Thank you so much for sharing!
@judymckerrow67202 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jeff, your terrarium looks very nice and I can see the dry creek bed you’ve made. The only thing I didn’t like was the nails on a chalkboard sound when you turned your terrarium from side to side 😵💫. I know get over it! I did! Thanks again, Jeff☃️❄️💚🙃

I know! I'm so sorry about that! That happened a few times and I picked it up on it and redid those portions of the video, but I missed that one and couldn't edit it out without losing the audio of what I was talking about. My bad!

My succulents always float too when I water them. ☃️❄️💚🙃
@TropicalPlantParty2 жыл бұрын
That's why I like to gently water from above and then fill a basin with water so the soil can wick it up. Otherwise it's like most of the water just goes around the root island.
