Great build Keith, it amazes me where you get your wood from? In this video you said you got the sheets from a reclamation yard, I haven't got one of those near me a right pain for me to get wood. I usually order online to Click2Buy in L'pool and that costs me £15 delivery cause I'm on the Wirral. Anyway soap box moment is gone now so well done on the build, it looks brillo. I'm quite lucky as I have one just around the corner.. I still have to pay for the delivery though unless I can cram it in my Vauxhall Corsa!

Well done Keith yet another great project, have you still got the Evolution saw or have you sent it back? I've had one for some time now and for the money its great.

+Joe basementwoodworking doing a bit of guess work, if the internal measures roughly 260mm deep internally and records are about 4mm thick, should hold 60 records per side roughly, so 120 in total. hope that helps!

the ultra long legs on such a small box seem strange but still very cool project

You really need a new blade for that table saw! Was a struggle to watch how much effort it took to cut that plywood and the severe burning it left on the material. Go for a freud blade, you can pick them up for between £30 and £40 and they will make your life so much easier!!

How are you finding your air nailer? I am toying at the idea of buying one. Do you think brand is important? Or just the air pressure output?
@RagnBoneBrown
@RagnBoneBrown 8 жыл бұрын
+seaninfrared I don't really know enough about them as this is the first I've ever owned, and I don't know what brand it is (there's no writing on it at all) or what air pressure output. It seems fairly decent though it's solid metal construction. Sometimes when I pull the trigger, air comes out but the nail doesn't fire. I think that's because there's not enough pressure coming from the compressor, because it usually turns itself on to suck in more air shortly after it does that. Doesn't happy often though so no big deal - good enough for me! I've loved using it so far, so would definitely recommend getting one even if it's just for the satisfying noise it makes! Psssh-crutka!!

Looks great, very cool display. I might make one for my dad, he has quite a collection of vinyls. How many will it hold, need to know if I'm gonna have to enlarge your plans or just build two.

Keith, could I use a router to do the dado joints? I don't have a table saw. Only a circular saw and a router. I have a 3/4" bit that should work for the dado. Also, is it possible to hammer finishing nails by hand? I don't want to have to buy an air gun if possible...thanks.
@RagnBoneBrown
@RagnBoneBrown 7 жыл бұрын
+Marcelo Pippa yes router for dado could work providing you have a way to accurately line them up so the bottom panel slides in and yes hammer and nails will be fine
