This guy gives contractors a bad name!!! My dad's a contractor and a good one unlike this crook. Last year, he had to deal with this lunatic customer. A couple of months after he finished her job, she calls him to complain about something. She was clearly drunk so he didn't take her seriously at first. When she persisted, he agreed to come back to fix whatever the hell it was that was supposedly a problem. He had to fit her in like a few weeks later because this was MONTHS later and he'd already moved on to other projects. He sent her all of the information about his return and has proof of that (as a fan of all of these court shows I'm always telling him to make sure to keep his paperwork in order and he does), but the Friday before he can return to the job, she files all sorts of complaints against him and is suddenly no longer interested in having him fix this supposed problem. I find that timing quite suspicious considering she knew that he was coming back on I think it was Monday. She then proceeded to make the next several months of his life a living hell. All that came out of those complaints by the way was he has get a few more signatures on his contracts or something like that, but that's quite literally IT. So this lady puts him through months of hell and then all of sudden she texts him asking him to come back and fix the job. At that point he has no more interest in dealing with her with his lawyer agreeing. He didn't trust this lunatic not to suddenly change her mind again and have him arrested for trespassing or something when he showed up. Later, she hires a lawyer to send him a demand letter for some really outrageous amount of money. First of all, she was only supposed to contact him through his lawyer which that violated. Which was his only response to her by the way. Second of all, her whole demand was outrageous. We haven't heard from her since so we're HOPING that this lunatic has finally given up. The craziest part of all of this is that we don't know what started her problem. All he can think is that some other contractor who wanted the job got into her head about this. This was not some one and done customer either: he'd done MULTIPLE jobs for her in the past and she was so satisfied that she had recommended him to other people too. She was also my grandmother's best friend, my dad's mother I mean. He literally knew this lady all of his life, she was no stranger.

Some contractors have substance abuse . Got money, keep it. If the person inquires about it, just make excuses to postpone. This is not just a one time incident, but the person becomes a full fledged crook, doing it all the time. Then only authorities can stop the fraud, because the person certainly won’t stop on his own. Advise for hiring a contractor - at least try to make sure the person is not a crook, and have the person committed to do your job- ie so that he doesn’t take on and do other jobs before completing yours. Don’t pay in advance, and if necessary go with the person to buy the materials needed and keep them on your property. And check the background of the person to make sure he is reputable.

What difference does it make if the plaintiff wasn't present when the fence was to be installed? Was she expecting to supervise the work? I'm not arguing anything to do with the case but why is she talking so vindictively at the end? That just seems a little unprofessional to me, you're a judge, it's nothing personal you're just ruling on the law you can rule without sounding condescending and sarcastic!

The contractor is indeed acting clownishly, but if anyone else acted like Judge MM did at the end, she would have called them childish and vindictive.

The plantiffs dating/friend witness shouldn't have gotten involved. He took it upon himself to go to the defendant's place of living for her which he shouldn't have done. Let them fend for themselves. They are more than capable of doing the job. Men always trying to play hero when not called upon to do so. This defendant has a current heart problem which is always why I tell men to take care of themselves.
