@@FynnGB you did really nice. in your early videos you are using claybuildup. did you changed your main "clay brush" to Clay ?
@FynnGB
@FynnGB 3 жыл бұрын
@@darkknight4353 thanks appreciate it! yes that's right. I did that mostly because I was spending quite a lot of time smoothing out the textures that the clay buildup brush produced and I felt like it gave me a more concious control over the form that I'm sculpting
@darkknight4353
@darkknight4353 3 жыл бұрын
@@FynnGB well I am also trying to switch to clay brush. Those who use clay brush are very fast and even if we sculpt at 300 dynamesh. We would not have worry about smoothing it. This is what I like about clay brush more

hey there, when you create pants and boots and strap's of the boots, probably you deleate hidden? and re-dinamssh right? and controlling the auto-group for polygroups? thx.
@FynnGB
@FynnGB 3 жыл бұрын
I like to use the extract function in the subtools menu and in then delete the inside faces to close the holes (i don't want hollow tubes for the pants for example for miniatures) and yes most of the time I use dynamesh on these things as well

Never thought about putting a gradient for masking, brilliant time saver! Thank you for taking your time and bring up those videos, they are always very illustrative. Btw which software would you recommend me for recording this kind of timelapses? Thank you again with all my heart. Semper
@FynnGB
@FynnGB 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Semper, thank you very much for the kind comment! Yeah the gradient is great especially when dealing with differing resolutions on your model. I use OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) for all my recordings and streaming and I can highly recommend it!

I wonder what are your settings for the lights and the material? my skin shade 4 does not look like that. Sorry if it is a dumb question I am new to zbrush
@FynnGB
@FynnGB 3 жыл бұрын
no worries! I like to start from the default 'DynaWax128' that you can find in the lightbox under project Then I go into the material menu and dial down the wax modifier to around 20 or so (sometimes I turn it off completely) that's my most common material setup that I use All the best

So talented and such a straight-up workflow I love it. Defo going to be taking some of these techniques into my next work. Have you got any tips for 3D printing? Just printed my first model but it could defo come out better.
@FynnGB

Thanks! Hmm if there is something specific maybe I can help you out but I can recommend checking out 3d printing pro here on youtube who has videos on almost anything you need to know about 3d printing (how to orient, what settings for supports, how fast the platform should move to avoid print failures, what exposure settings to use, etc)

check out Rafael Grassettis KZbin and Gumroad page! he has some nice content I would also say check out some drawing channels like proko! I learned a ton through proko's videos and his website breaks things down pretty well and of course: practice practice practice! Hope it helps :)

Awesome work! I'm on the fence about switching to Zbrush from Blender. It seems like an upgrade in terms of usability but I'm not sure it's enough to warrant the cost.
@FynnGB
@FynnGB 3 жыл бұрын
thanks! I think if you're doing work for yourself and learning the fundamentals you don't need zbrush. it's better for production for sure imo but for studying purposes I think you can practice everything you need to know to create a professional portfolio in blender. At least for most things. If you want to get into the tens of millions if not hundreds of millions of polygons to detail a whole character to a photorealistic level then there is no way around zbrush. But for studying anatomy, learning design principles, props and especially stylized characters I would say blender is enough for personal development. The advantage to zbrush would be that it's a commitment since it costs something which can be motivational. In the end it's preference and if you think you are at a point where you want to change things up :) Hope it helps even though it was a bit of a ramble haha

Awesome work Fynn! Hey quick question : What type of 3D printer are you using and can you recommend any overall? Keep it up!
@FynnGB
@FynnGB 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Georgi! I do have an Elegoo Mars and a Nova3D Bene4. I would recommend to check out 3dprinting pro who has some indepth printer reviews. I would say go for one that has a monochromatic screen since mine are a bit older and don't have one. They are much faster and the newer ones have more screen resolution as well I would say anycubic, epax and phrozen are good brands to look at
