A quick summary of making a small block of sugar to add to the honey bee hive to keep them held over until Spring. It’s simple and all that you need is 4 cups of sugar, 1 cup of water, a splash of vinegar, pot, pie pan (I like to use a larger one to make it easier to pour) and a candy thermometer.
I only put one in each hive, but I’m planning on checking back in later next month to make sure they are good. By April, there should be lots of blooms!
