It certainly is. Made In Japan has got the cute factor in both CG and 3D. Almost looks like you have cheated somehow but you are just really good James. Makes mine look bad so trying to get him to look more Made In Japan'ish.

EXCELLENT example of draping and pattern drafting! I admit, it was a bit disturbing when you pulled off his arms for some parts of the fitting, but it makes sense. Didn't realize the "fuzzies" along the hems, were the result of assembling it with the seam allowances facing outward, rather than inside. My own version of The Child is a soft, all fabric sculpture based on a teddy bear, built almost entirely from materials I had on hand; your clay sculpting videos helped me think about fabric in a manner more like clay (note: adding a layer or padding is relatively simple - but removing material is REALLY difficult!). Since mine is soft, cuddly fleece, I used a small chenille upholstery remnant for the majority of the outer robe, and built a raglan type sleeve pattern because the fabric has a slight nap, and there wasn't enough to build a garment with as many pieces as as you did for your Little Green Guy's outer coat. The only thing that would have been helpful, would be subtitles describing what you were doing, so folks with less sewing experience would understand the process. I found the coat to be a challenge because it's been years since I made doll or teddy bear clothing - these don't have the same proportions as humans, so I had to think differently. Plus, the little guy's coat looks like it's at least three sizes too big - as if it had been made for him with the expectation he would grow into it. It does make you think, about how he got his clothes in the first place - and who might have made them for him.

Thanks Pat! What a terrific response; thought out and inspiring. I think I can add subtitles- I’ll have to figure out how to do that. I’d really like to see your little guy!!

James, is there no end to your baby Yoda making talents? Also you said it is 'government work'? Is that right? Please explain. Thank you.

Hey man, it’s just a saying my father said all the time and now it’s my habit : “it’s good enough for government work” just means “the job is sufficient”. It’s not actually work for the government. .

Brilliant, sir, as always. Hell, I'm doing good to do occasional mending, and if I actually sew a hem properly, I call myself doing something 😂😂😂😂, so this is genius to yours truly. Wonderful job, mad skills, as the kids used to say. 👏👏👏 Also, once more, I have to say that if you ever start selling your own Baby Yoda sculptures, please post such online as I would be the first IN line to purchase 👍👍👍👍. Thanks again for all the lovely videos, and best wishes to you and yours in this new year. ☺😊

Nice intro skit James!😂 The Childs new threads are looking fantastic. Great accuracy! I find these time lapses are great to watch in the background while I’m laboriously editing in a variety of programs, the music choices certainly help too. That first track had a really great feel to it, could I trouble you for the songs details? (Im assuming it came from a royalty free music service?) Also, finally someone who shares my frustrations with the pronunciation of muslin! And half the time i order it, I don’t even get a fabric I thought was a muslin😂 Huh, never realised the similarities between k’s jacket and the childs robe... perhaps the child is a replicant... ;) Keep up the great work mate! I look forward to every new segment. P.s. is that a sneaky mando helmet and some essential laser-tools i see in the background of the explanatory segment of the vid? Your shop looks like a mighty fine establishment.

Also, I forgot to mention. Im enjoying the consistency of the new branding in the thumbnails. Its looking very aesthetically pleasing. Keep it up!
@jeditsuyoshi5 жыл бұрын
Hah! Yes! Indeed it is. Well, more accurately, it’s Boba’s helmet and yes, those are some “laser cutting tools that don’t actually cut” in the background. I’ll have to get back on the computer for the tunes; I knew I forgot something. It’s a three day weekend tho so if you can wait till Monday I’ll update it in the comments. Thanks for all the great feedback!
