A delicacy that can’t be called by any other name…😉🤩 That old cleaning method took the whole day, trim hair, put on the fire, burn it, turn it, and the flame had to be fired up quite well… watched our mothers work on this meals especially during the school holidays… Thank God for those hard working ppl who making it easier for the younger generations (if they cook it 😆🤣) Thank you mother for a beautiful legendary meal..

I love your channel so much aunty Gaithree. You’re teaching me so much. I am new to Le Creuset (spent a fortune on some pots as a treat) and I learned that we should only be using silicone or wooden utensils in the pots to prevent scratching or even pieces of enamel in your food. I thought this might be helpful to you too. Thank you for the wonderful videos. I look forward to each one and you make me so hungry every time I watch ❤😂

My ma and nani prepared this dish in the exact same way, I remember the days when they used to sweat over the fire with the pokers cleaning the trotters. as I am busy cooking Gori Curry I thought let me look at other people who they do it back home, and watching your wonderful vid I have learned something so new that never knew before or learned thank you so much, and on that note where do you buy your meat in GP the meat I bought this weekend is white in the inside rather then so nice a pink and fresh like yours, mine is not off but I am sure it would make a diffrence in the outcome of flavour of curry. What do you advise would it or not but any tips for a good butcher would be such a great help. thank you and warm regards. 🌻🌹🌼💐

We get our meat at United meat in Fordsburg. They are usually busy so their meat is in and out of the shop very quickly and therefore is fresh whenever we buy.

Today's younger generation definitely does not appreciate this. I buy mine from Deenas butchery and it is cleaned thoroughly. I'm wondering why the mealie meal clean?

Hello Mum 🤗 your curry looks absolutely delicious. I haven't tried with broadbeans. I usually cook it with sugarbeans....or try it with gudrabeans. It's just divine. I boil my Gori in the pressure cooker which takes about 20 minutes, minus the tough ones Wish we lived close to you.... We could have taken cooking lessons from you Mum 🤗 Thank you once again🤗 goes well with fresh unsliced bread 🙂 Lucky Wanderer and Pranesha 🥺
