sharing some tips today on making friends when moving to a new city based on my experience moving from Perth to Melbourne on my own around eight years ago! I know it can be so daunting and challenging so I hope some of these tips help just a little 💓

Are you from Sydney Australia Jamie? I ask because you have that posh cultivated Sydney Australian English accent that I L-O-V-E like (Alicia Hannah Kim Cohra Kai Season 5) & like Nathalie Kelley (The Vampire Diares Siren). So I was thinking you must be from Sydney Australia like them. 😊

as someone who's also a bit introverted now, it was so reassuring to hear "you will find your people", 'cause i have heard that being said to me a few times and i couldn't get around it now that i'm all grown up and it's indeed challenging to make friends at this age. this is such a great video, thanks for sharing jamie 🥺🌸

This was so reassuring to watch as I'm planning on moving cities soon (potentially to Melbourne!). Adult friendships definitely feel harder to make and keep but seeing how you've built your community is giving me a lot of hope 🥰

Moving to a new state or city can be so stressful! I moved the first few months of the pandemic and it was a struggle finding friends! Now that I have lived here for 2 1/2 years I feel so much more comfortable and found amazing friends a long the way:) Love how many tips you gave, yes making friends at work can be a bit harder bc of the professional boundary!

It's easier to make friends in school..moving to a new city and making friends as a working individual is so tough :((

I completely agree and understand!! I’ve fortunately made really good friends through work who introduced me to their friend circles (but that definitely took time). Keep being patient and putting yourself out there, I know it can be really tough but I’m hopeful the friends will come!💗

Hi, just wanted to ask is it creepy to approach new people?
@SundayswithJamie Жыл бұрын
Hi Natalie! I really think it depends on the circumstances and how you go about it - e.g. I have approached strangers at the end of a Pilates class or after a class at uni or at a party! If I don’t sense the other person is interested in chatting, I don’t keep going with the convo. I just try to be friendly when approaching new people because they may feel uncomfortable and may not want to be approached which is understandable. Hope that helps

@@SundayswithJamie SAME. i try to read off people's body language when asking them out on a date or for friendship. One of my close friends, i made friends with her on a street on a night out 😅 i basically approached her and complimented her and conversation flowed and then decided to hangout next day and then boom we became besties xx

What do you know? To make friends, you only have two options. You dominate or you suck up. You can only have a friendship when two people are unequal.

Do yiu have any hobbies or interests. Like you could take art classes, or join a book club , a walking group, a cooking class you name it. Maybe you can meet some friends that way?
