The Caliente and Lothario homes were built for base game. Apartment Life gave us the opportunity to turn them and the other homes in that area into a cohesive little neighborhood.

This is great! It's only like now, playing TS2 as an adult (and having recently bought my own house irl), that I realised how unusable those original Maxis houses are if you want to do anything with the premade sims away from the 'lore' preset. When I was younger, I'd just whack another room out the kitchen or on the roof or stick a bunch of furniture including beds literally anywhere in the garden haha

LOL and the builders really haven't gotten better in 24 years! My first house in TS1 was a very popular download. Then I recreated it in TS2 and TS4. I might do a build of it here so people can see it. I've always gone for realism as well as functionality.

I really like that you put the condos near to the beach, and i did the same! The tropical microclimate the condo district seems to have seems so much appropriate in that location, and i like that you made them apartments 😊 I also placed the Nightlife apartment set pieces close by, as i imagine the condos were possibly set up to be something like that but for the 2004 limitations! I get that there's meant to be Miami vibe? Like, the Italian Lothario and possibly Columbian or maybe Cuban Caliente sisters seem to really fit into that setting.

I did some research into the Caliente's and it seems they are more Spanish than Latin American, but they are also 50% middle eastern (exactly which ethnicity thereof I am uncertain). But that does lend itself to more Spanish itself as there is a significant tie between Spain and Morocco. Legitimately, I believe if I were to do a way back Caliente build (from toddler upward) most appropriate design would be filled with Moroccan stuff. I have them as little girls in TS4, living in a rebuild of a TS1 Unleashed Blackwood cottage (I think that's what it's called).

Oh, I really like these houses and the windows show that its warmer in that area too - considering its near a beach. 😊 I always thought Nina wasn't suitable as a Romance Sim, she doesn't like to do interactions as a typical Romance Sim would. In lore I would've changed her to be a Popularity Sim instead since the Caliente's give off the energy of loving fun house parties and hangouts(?). But at the same time, she's shy and should've been a Family Sim that likes sports. 🤣 I also heard the disappointment in the sigh 10:40 on "whomever... marries him". 🤣🤣

LOL...I didn't hear the sigh when I was filming, but in editing I thought...yeah...that has to stay! I've made Nina Popularity in the past, but she really is a great mom!

Wow, think of the drama with Don, Nina, and Dina living in the same apartment complex! And throw in Daniel Pleasant after Mary Sue divorces him. And then have Kaylynn the maid move in with either Daniel or Don. Fireworks galore! The condos look so good with the different windows and brick siding! Dina and Nina's place is so nice. I love how you put the ballet barres in front of the windows. It never occurred to me that one could do that. I love the hot tub on the platform. Don's place is so bro! Don needs some male buddies to watch ball games on tv while he regales them with his romantic conquests during half-time. The third condo came out very nice. Love all the IKEA red in the living room. Aren't there a couple/few condos that have no bedrooms big enough for the double bed? Was the third condo one of them? If so, then you really accomplished something with the bedrooms there. Whatever did we do without spiral stairs? I think I would've done something different with the yards. Make them smaller and have a community area so they can freely mingle. Perhaps have on large pool for the complex along with a hot tub and/or bbq area. One of those nice patios with a fireplace and bar.

The opportunity for drama has just increased in the neighborhood! And I did think about community areas (like my trailer park has) but I wanted it to feel like regular neighborhood that sims can just walk down the street, so to speak, and you can pop in on your neighbors.

Wow! This is a beautiful surprise video. Nina as a family sim is quite surprising to me. But as she's shy, this leaves me to wonder... was she supposed to be a Soulmate!Romantic sim but the game mechanics didn't allow it to happen? Maybe I should try giving her the Hopeless Romantic mod. She's been seeing other men in my game. For 30 Lakeside Drive, I moved Joe T. and Jane T. Newbie (the Tutorial family) into the house. Joe is Brandi's brother/Betty and Bob's son, according to a Pleasantview neighbourhood which included them. The two of them did pretty well for themselves, adopting Marsha Bruenig the townie child as well as having two sons, Alistair (from TS3 Lunar Lakes) and Nathan (From TS3 on Wii). Joe was in the Journalist career and Jane in the Natural Scientist career. They also have a dog named Speckle, who was a descendant of Buddy Newbie (the dog owned by Bob and Betty Newbie in the PS2 Sims 2 Pets game). Marsha ended up with Scot Picasso, the adopted son of Matthew and Jessica Picasso. Nathan ended up marrying a sim named Tammy (daughter of Jeremey Goode [from TS3 Lunar Lakes] and Beatrice Crumplebottom [from TS3 Supernatural]) and having two kids, Eddie and Edna [from TS3 on Wii].

I absolutely love that TS4 separates Romance into serial romantic and soulmate. I would say that yes, I consider that for Nina. I make my married Romance sims be faithful so for all intents and purposes, yes they are soulmates as I play them. Nina is a wonderful mother, though she usually has Auntie Dina over to encourage the kids in Niceness. I've never once considered harvesting tutorial Joe and Jane...that poses some interesting possibilities!
