Reminds me of the way the made all the characters in Coraline talk. Every single frame had a different "mask" for the characters, so they had tons and tons of those. I love how you didn't go full digital and made a nice blend with real paper props and digital editing. It honestly surprised me how smooth her mouth moved and I thought you just made like hundreds of paper cutouts just for the mouth.

Gruff is the most Wholesome Film I ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Your ability to make close ups of paper hands move so naturally must have taken a lot of practice. Choosing the artstyle you were aiming for is the best creative decision of your passion project. Paper is a flimsy, floppy, and fragile material to work with in stop motion so I am very impressed with how everything turned out seemlessly. This was 9 miniutes of pure perfection.

I thought to myself I was only gonna watch some of it but I I just got sucked it to it and watched the whole thing without realizing that it was only about 3 minutes. I find this very interesting the stop motion is something I’ve been doing for about 6 or 7 years now so I know that even small things like this can take a minute to get right. Gruff is definitely a new milestone on KZbin there really isn’t anything like it on KZbin so it’s special. it’s the beginning of a new era

Everyone says this is a "talent". But I argue that all of these are skills developed through extensive trials and errors harder than we can even start to imagine. A lot has been shown in this film, one key factor is patience and of course, joy in the process. This is the best example of "Quality over Quantity" and "Enjoying over work" Edit: Skill and Talent aren't the same thing. Talent is something you are born with, you don't have to work so hard to do something you are talented to do. Skills is slowly developed through years of experience. Which is why sometimes, telling someone who managed to create an amazing artform "talent" is more of an insult because they were the only people who knew the sht they went through just to complete their piece. Skillful is the more respectable word for these things

Wow, the amount of effort that goes until like every little detail, even like the speaking that some people wouldn't even know this like I didn't even think about how the speaking with work while watching the film until watching this video. It kind of just passed right over me. But this way it makes me think like wow. There was so much effort planned like every small detail, even if there's the chance that most people might even miss it.

Thank you for providing a great insight into having passion for art versus resorting to AI generated. So many people still don't understand why genAI is such a soulless and damaging path for humanity, so the more we can get people to spread awareness then hopefully the more others will come to understand that art isn't just about the end goal or making a product, it's supposed to be a personal experience, an true expression of you and your own experiences, not some AI's. And hopefully with that understanding, they realize why even supporting those genAI tools through likes and memes is itself damaging, so long as the data is being sourced without express consent.
